look at the height meter!

this makes me wonder how high skiers actually go. Becuase if Douglas and uncle E are using these height meters when they say "look at the amplitude!!! he's atleast 25 feet out!" I have a hard time believing them.

And you cannot say thats the height from the ground to the top of the pipe because the pipes walls were something like 18 feet high.
 
man..just give up... who cares... there have been threads exactly like this one, and in no way do they affect the sport of skiing, you, or me.... so get off it already.
 
hahah your right, and when they say that they are looking at the top of their pole thats way up ther too.

At any rate I've noticed that in photos before, pretty damn funny. Skiers do actually go 25 feet out, but with that height meter 25 feet would probably register at 35 or so.
 
Yeah during the x games, subtract 3-5ft from the height that the announcers say and you'll get a more realilistic height.
 
man its all for tv purpose's, they want it to seem higher to make it more X-tream. Its not real measurment, just take 4-5 feet off what they said they got to get a more acurate height
 
I'm gonna guyess that that pipe is bigger than 3 feet tall.

where's that pic of jon standing beside it and it says he's like 8 feet tall.
 
i am going to say that from what i see its 8 feet on the sign plus i was just tossing an idea out.
 
common guys, if there are people that are payed to put numbers on a pole, are they smart enough to get the measurments right?
 
well they have their heights wrong but does it really matter? you know when someone goes huge whether or not you have a heightometer
 
wow, its height from the bottom of the pipe.. its not wrong. they measure from the flat of the pipe. how do you guys not know that...?
