Whats your worst ski related accident? And how long did it take you to get back on??

I broke my collar bone doin a shit trick in the park last season, thought i was hard and started skiing again after 3 days (meant to be 3 weeks) and now have got seriously fucked up, sticking out, french doctors are shit, lump.

defo worth it tho!!

 
ive had some bad crashes, never broke anything, but the worse would be that kicker we made on that ski trail after that massive dump of snow. landing was sketchiest you could imagine, i went too big, lost control, caught ski edge and face planted into a nice pile of compact pow pow. totally obliterated my goggles and was skiing again in 5 minutes.

Sprainted my hip joint. Couldnt walk for shit for almost 2 weeks. It hurts sometimes when I did too much heavy lifting/bending.

bruised heels, blacked out once...both time i was back on skis in about 20 mins....

1 broken foot that took like 4 months

2 broken thumb i still ski'd

3 punctured lung/lacerated liver/concussion that took like 2 months and hurt like shit when i went sking again..

I cut my finger off at work and made my hand look like hamburger but that isnt skiing related.. check out my profile for proof..

when you did your acl did you actually hear it pop? becasue they always ask if you hear a poping noise, but I always thought it would be hard to hear a pop during a crash.

shit i know i only tore my Acl & ucl neither one did i feel 'pain' or hurt, it just didn't feel right! i still skied on i the next day, then for two months till season was up b4 surgery:

for me there was lots of popping i heard be it the dislocation or not it went right back in. i knew something was wrong when i triedto put my wait on it and fold like a pretzel at my knee. second time i just collapsed jumping on my trampoline at home. no popping but i knew someting was wrong.

I tore something in my knee is not sure wat it was but it hurt like a bitch. was in a brace for 4 weeks then back to skiing. And I've cracked or bruised some ribs but just ski with those even tho it also hurts like a bitch

sliced my back open when skiing pipe. i was in the air and my ski popped off and i landed straight onto the edge of my ski from about 10 feet up and my jacket was hiked up so it was on bare skin.

 
over-popped a five at okemo and fucked up my heel and couldnt ski for the rest of that day

broke both my arms in an hour. it happened in february and im still in a cast for one of them

guinea piggin a big table at hood with a 180 safty in the mourning (icy)...overshot the tranny by 20 ro 30 feet...woke up in a hospital in a cat scan thing 50 miles away....that sucked shit

2 broken thumbs, acl mcl meniscus and fractured femur all in one, 2 ribs, dislocated shoulder. and broken arm in dryland.

 
big white that is bad my worst fear every time I eject (usually double) it getting cut in the face or eating skis ect. For me just skiers thumb sprained wrist broken goggle chipped teeth (1 pulled where your mouthpiece kids.)

Blew out both knees the middle of last season and kept skiing till the end of the season, spraining an ankle and breaking my right thumb twice. Collectively, it's the worst i've ever done and I'm still recovering.

Hopefully I'll be good for skiing by october or november though, especially because fucking PT is expensive and if it doesn't work my parents will blame me...

Last week on a skiercross stayed unconscious for quite a while after my binding broke after a 25 mts double wave, snow really packed, will ski tomorrow again but my shoulder and neck still hurts, broken nose, and a big fat face and eye for a few days.

THis isn't the worst one, but two years ago I was at alta doing a 3 off a 20ft drop and when i came around i was way forward and smashed my knee on my chin/face. When i did, i bit a hole through my tongue, no joke. There is still a big line with a bump bump on my tongue to this day. I sucked eating for a while after that.

 
They're pretty weak, but I sprained my thumb and broke my toe. I don't know if this counts as an injury, but I went skiing once when I was really sick, and I crashed dropping a small cliff, and started coughing up blood and junk. It was really gross.

skier thumb, roughed up my knees a couple times but nothing I've gotten checked out, messed up my shoulder aswell but that was fine after a couple days.

broken thumbs and a broken wrist. some sprains that were bad and a gimpy knee from sk8in that keept me out of commision for a whole summer and the first 2 months of last season. cant wait to start this one health. i hope...

icork 7nd a 3 going off a table in pico and landed 10-20 feet over the landing. had, helmet, got cuncussion, for maybe 15-20 minutes i was blacked out. landed on icy snow, hard as hell. my goggles jammes into my face and cut in deep enough for me to need 6 stitches for it. nothing broken though. o yea blacked out in mid air. landed tottally corked mt friends said. i went t ofast at the table, like ful speed, i wanted all the speed i cou;l d get cause when my friends went off it it gave them no air at all. and dont learn 3's in yout small backyard kicker. really stupid idea

leaned too far forward on a pow landing and fell face first. one ski didn't pop out and the back hit the top of may head. supposed to get stitches, but didn't cause i was in teh mountains and i am from saskatchewan.

Ive never got seriously hurt but I got knocked out once last season. I went off this thirty foot table apparently a little two fast. The last thing i remember is being 15 feet up in the air at the end of the landing. Next I was standing there holding my skis.

fractured my clavical twice in 4 months, really pissed me off. I never want to hurt my self again. Its not the pain, its the time that you sit out that really fucking sucks
