I'm terrible with accents. Some asian guy was yelling at me at work today because I took the lane ropes out 3 minutes before the swim ended and he wanted to swim right till 8. Couldn't understand a word he said. All I could tell was that he was furious because of the tone of his voice.
Haha it's so much fun when you don't know anybody and you just fake an accent for the whole time. I'm also a really good actress (no boasting) so when they ask me questions about my home town (London, for example) I can answer them really easily and not look like I'm lying.
what classifies a texas accent? my entire family including myself is from there. but i was raised just in the south in general so people say i talk real slow and have twangs on certain words.
This girl at my work has bar none the greatest chinese accent ever. She'll do it for a while really loudly and then break into what sounds exactly like angry Chinese ranting. She doesn't speak Chinese. It's amazing.
despite having English parents, and formerly an English accent until i went to school I can not do one. I have a wicked Swede but for some reason I can't pull of a brit, mine comes back when i am hammered though whcih is weird, especially as I am drunk right now but obviously nobody on NS can hear me.
everyone who thinks theyre good at accents usually suck because they do it over the top/stereotypically. it might be funny, but its not really how typical people with that accent actually talk. english is the worst. i dont think a single person in the US actually knows what a real english person sounds like (old english and cockney are not what normal english people sound like)..etc..
last time i went to breckenridge my cousin and i fooled these guys into thinking we were from sweden. they were from texas we then went out that night and were going through people saying look out these 2 are from sweden. dumbest guys ever.
Today on the lift at Keystone I did an extremely strong Southern accent. I already kind of have one since I am from FL, but this was hilarious. I started talking about my guns and my trucks.
