Absinthe Transportation

im gonna be going to germany, and i need to find a way how to bring back absinthe and mad alchohol on the plane and you know how america is right now with the plane transportation

any ideas?

Mail it to yourself. At least that's how I'd do it. I don't know how USPS works in these situations.

I carried three bottles of champagne in my carry on from France to England to DC. Nobody really gave a shit, but with absinthe... mail it.

pack it in your checked luggage the only time you will have a problem is if for some strange reason customs wants to check through your bags. Even if the TSA does a search of your bag they are not supposed to take anything out, they are there for security and dont give a shit what kind of alcohol or whatever you bring along. Mailing it to yourself (while it would probably work) is a little more risky because all mail goes through customs and stuff is given a closer look going through there. In the airport you walk up to a customs agent/booth in your first port of call in the US and they ask if you have any fruits/vegetables/plants/other shit that you want to declare blah blah blah.

Drink all the absinth you can whilst in germany. you wont want any afterwards.

Mailing is ok. But if customs gets a whiff then you'll have to travel to NewJersy customs office.fine if you live in NJ.

DONT GET GERMAN ABSINTHE they water there shit down. go to amsterdam, or some other european country. the alcohol tho would be worth taking into america.

If you are 21, just stick it in your luggage, I've never had a problem. I make my own alchool called genepi (the plant is in the Artemesia family like absinthe) and I bring some back every year no problem.

I stuffed numerous wine bottles and some cognac and ouzo into things like my sleeping bag and stuff coming back from europe last summer. I was under 21 so I couldn't claim it. It worked well for me, but then again I didnt get inspected upon returning to the United States (Houston).

i bought 2 bottles in germany when i was 17 and just put it in my checked baggage.

and for the record, anything under 50milligrams of wormwood is a complete waste of time. do some research before you buy it.

absinthe isn't illegal in the U.S. Its only illegal to distribute. You shouldn't have any problems

its actually the original recipe which didnt include thujone, the chemical for which it is banned in the US.
