About to pull the trigger on Line Chronics - but still considering Sick Days/k2 Shreditor

Okay so after being told that the Chronic is great fun all over the mountain and performs as an all rounder I'm really close to buying some.

The money really is a lot to me though so I want to get this right!

I ski 70% groomers, 20% pow and 10%park , I'm 5ft8 and 160lb

Up until I got the recomendation on the Chronics, I was strongly considering the sick day 95 or the K2 shreditor.

I'm open to all suggestions and i would really appreciate any help to stop me making the wrong choice - I just want a ski thats capable and good fun all over the mountain!

Thanks!

I have the chronics and I'm not trying to advertise them or anything but i love them. I definitely do a little more park than you and they're really good in the park. If you are skiing more pow than park you might want to look at something SLIGHTLY wider. But only 20% probably isn't enough for true pow skis.

I bought the K2 shreditor 92 a week ago, and i do 70 % park 30% piste, i can go in park and do big kickers, small kickers and rails, and when i go to the mountain i can go top speed carving almost horizontal and don't lose any grip

DO NOT GET THE CHRONIC I have had two pair and they both fell apart within the first year of riding. One pair I had the bindings rip completely out of the skis and Line was no help with their warranty. They continually just gave me trouble never really helping or even having me send the skis in. They are a joke of a company and are over priced skis. Go k2...

I would go K2 shreditor. I absolutely love mine. My brother has a pair of chronics and his have already delaminated while my shreditors are in perfect condition. Not to mention I've had my pair longer and skied them more.

You will be nothing but pleased with the shreditor.

I was recommended the chronic, and it seems like a pretty solid ski. I was skeptical because I know a lot of people have trouble with Line and quality control. I don't have any experience with them, so I can't really recommend them nor steer you away from them.

I was shown J Skis a little while back. I don't have a pair of those either, but I haven't found one complaint on the company. I think you should look into the Allplay from J. It's an all mountain that's a little wider underfoot for when you wanna ride the pow. I've heard it skis pretty well in the park. Again, same as the chronic; can't really recommend the ski but definitely think you should check it out.

Thanks for all the help guys, looks like a lot of chronic bashing which is making me think twice!

Does anyone know how they go in the pow?

If i'm honest very tempted by the Shreditor now!

Your bindings ripping out is not an issue with the construction of the ski necessarily. the holes could have been wallowed out during the mounting process. All you would need to do is helicoil the original holes and you're golden. Not a warranty issue.

P.S. K2 owns Line and they're produced in the same factory. Quality of construction is going to be almost identical. Your arguments are invalid.
