Maybe abortion is not murder by definition. But it does not deter from the fact that this living being is being killed. It is not an object, an animal, or a little-piece-of-nothing chillin' in their mother's womb, it is in fact flesh and blood. There are millions of abortions every year, thats millions of children who will never get to live their childhood, let alone live at all. Who would know if one of these beings would have grown up to be the next president, Einstein, or Walter Payton? We'll never know.

the only way people justify killing babies are to say that the baby isnt human yet. but if it isnt human, what is it? it isnt a frog, or a horse, it is a human, plain and simple. did you know that the chinese count everyone's birthdays from the moment they are concieved, so everyone is 9 months older? that is because they believe that you are a human at conception, which is absolutely correct.

and like petek mentioned, having an abortion can seriously screw up a female's chances of having kids again, and it puts the female's health in serious jeopardy. this is because the mother's body has different hormone levels and the whole body makes changes to account for the unborn child in the womb, and when this is unnaturaly stopped by an abortion, the body doesn't have a chance to get out of this state of pregnancy, and this puts the body in an awkward position and makes her more susceptible and prone to serious illness. long story short abortions not only kill a child, they cause harm to the mother as well, not to mention serious emotional trauma which yeti described.

i'd reccomend that you save yourself from the anguish all this could cause; plan ahead and think before you act.

The thing is, if my mother aborted me. I would have never known life and would have never been able to ponder this question. How can I be pissed off at not having a chance of life, if I never had known life itself? Yes, it is debatable what the defination of a human is, but the way I see it is, I remember nothing what so ever of being in the womb, or even a the first year of my life for that matter.

Pro-choice means it is up to the mother to decide what is best. Yes their are known complications with abortion (But, if done by a trained doctor though, the risk of death is very low, even lower than an apendectmy (sp?) ). The mother should be left to decide what to do, the risk are up to her. No one is forcing her to have an abortion, there are other options (parent the kid, adoption, etc.)

You should read Michael Crichton's A Case of Need. Although ficition, it handles the different view points of abortion and

exposes many facts on the subject.

Pro-life for sure. Its not about choices. Its about you screwed up ( limiting to normal circumstances), and you can't deal with the fact that you made a mistake. And since you can't deal with the fact that you made a mistake, you do the most selfish thing possible, kill your own child. Now hmm, lets think for a second... lets say for a second that I made a mistake by speeding in my car. And lets say that the government said that I would go to jail for the rest of my life because I was speeding in my car and endangering other humans (this is just a metaphor) BUT since my child was in the car... he/she could go to jail for the rest of his/her life to get me out of it. Now, even though the child didnt make the mistake, wasnt even driving the car,... all you pro-choicers would send the kid away. But instead of having the kid sent to prison, you would just outright kill him? Can you even consider yourself human? And have you ever heard of the word potential. Yah, it has meaning. Just because a life isnt out of a women's womb, doesnt mean it has the potential to be a person. AND, on another note, if a women has a ceasarian section child in a hospital, they have to cut her womb open to allow her to give birth. Now, when the child is lieing there in the womb, you pro-choicers say that it is not human. But when they remove it from the womb, 2 seconds later it is?... explain the logic. Well I hope you pro-choice people give this some thought, because you are stopping a beating heart from beating.

I think that unless you have been in the situation, like yeti, you are going to have a hard time being truly specific with your beleifs. You can say that you support one side based on principle, but until you are in a situation where you have to decide to abort or have a child, you cannot truly say what you will decide and how you stand. I like to think that if I were in the situation, I would probably have an abortion, but who's to say? I've never been pregnant, I've never had to deal with it.

My parents were going to have an abortion when my mom was pregnant with me. Sometimes I think that they should have because both of them would have been much happier than they were, especially when I was a newborn. Yeah, my life is awesome, I love it, but if I was never born I wouldn't know that, so the question of a baby's right to experience life is kinda' skewed.

my best friend's mom was raped like 22 years ago, had the baby and adopted it out. the wierd part was that she told my friend that only last year, and i knew about his unknown sister way before he did. anyways, they had a crazy reunion, and all is well in the cosmos now.

Like I have been saying no one can be sure when a fetus is a human being (and that is why we are havinf this debate), but if you know anything about abortion, an abortion at 9 months is super risky and is almost unheard of. Sure it happens, but 90% (1) of all abortions occur in the first 3 months.

What don't you pro-life don't understand? Pro-choice does not have to mean we are all about aborting babies. We just believe it is up to the mother to make that decision. Personally, If I was a woman I would not opt for an abortion, it is against my morals. But I have never been in that situation, so who am I to tell people that is wrong. Notice we are pro-choice, not to be confused with con-life, anti-life or no-life.

not even just the pill, there are so many options available right now it's great. Pretty much everything has been refined (especially the pill) to work almost 100% (but they can't say that, because sometimes shit happens...like when it's not taken properly) with very few side effects.

I can't WAIT until the male pill is introduced. Not for like another seven years i think. Damn FDA.

221, i just dont agree. sometimes a unplanned pregnancy can be what motivates someone to get their life on track and do right by their girl. the baby from my earlier post is growing up in a unique environment. different doesnt always fuck stuff up. for instance, kids with one parent may have it worse in some situations

There are… about 30 000 abortions a day in U.S…. 25 000 anually in quebec(not that anybody cares about Quebec)… just a random fact. Plus, I don’t care about abortion, people can do it whatever, but, stop saying stuff like “its just a pile of goo, it cant feel anything”, cause it does. Get your facts right. I watched(not that I wanted too, it was in religion class) a video about abortion that was pretty graphical… and its not cause im a intellectual, that I know all this shit about abortion, its cause I watched the video like 2 weeks ago and remember it. The fetus starts reacting to pain, sight, and sound at (im not gonna lie here, but cant remember the time, but its pretty early like when its 4 weeks old)… so it does feel the pain, but it doesent feel pain.

Plus, why don’t we all just use protection… yes, a condom might lessen the orgasm for the guy, but it(well not for everyone but from my past experiences) takes more time to get an orgasm, thus giving more time to the girl to get multiple orgasms…. Which will most likely help the relationship. Condom+spermicide=3.2% chances of having a baby… so why not use those two, not to have to deal with abortion later.
