hmmmm interesting question, id have to say i am againt it, but by no means would i want a kid any younger than 25.. and even then....
 
I'd say that I'm against it with the exception of rape and things of that nature. But if a couple gets sloppy and forgets a condom, then they fucked up and they should deal with the consequences responsibly
 
fair enough but if theyre under 16 then they should either re-evaluate their approach to birth control or they should quit doing the baby making dance for a while
 
What if they are taking precautions? Say, she's on birth control, they've both been tested for STD's and they're very loyal to eachother.. what happens if she gets pregnant? Did they fuck up and should they have to face consequences because no condom was used?

Anyways, I agree with abortion in certain cases. If someone wants an abortion, they obviously don't want the child and if they don't want a child they're not going to take care of it properly. No one should have a kid unless they want to, otherwise the child will not have a good life.

What child actually wishes a life of foster care and parents who aren't blood related? What child wishes a life of poverty from being born into a young family without a good life foundation? Not many.

For those of you who say, "face the consequences!!", I strongly disagree. No one should ever have their life taken away from them, especially young kids, from one little mistake. I belive in second chances.. unless you murder an innocent person because that is very wrong (and don't give me the "abortion is murder!!" bullshit because I don't think it is.)

And then you talk about foster care,?????the real answer if they dont want the baby is called adoption to loving parents who want the child and could give him everything he or she ever asked for.

So stop being so selfish and thinking me me me, and think about the little life that is being killed and the adoption parents who are not given the opportunity to adopt because of your selfish self indulging lifestyle.

It's not just the kid that can fuck over the ppl like being pregnant is no walk in the park, i mean i agree that adoption would be great but lots of women just can't get pregnant. you seem like one of those evangelical right wing ppl that post pictures of dead babies at corners to get your point across. Its a lot more complicated then just dealing with your problem and having a baby.
 
No I am not, I agree with you, if it puts the womans life in danger than yes abortion is ok.

I just have a best friend and a faher inlaw who were adopted who have done sooo much good in the world and to think that some woman who doesnt feel like being pregnant for 9 months can go and throw those peoples life away becaus its "her baby her decision", its wrong. Deal with the consequenses and move on.
 
It's a living baby? And you just want them to kill it? I can't even begin to imagine why people would be for abortion. It's a baby, and should not just be killed just because someone was "sloppy".
 
how is that a baby. the goverment cant tell u how to live ur life. Many times abortion is needed and people do make mistakes.
 
OK, for one thing, I'M NOT THE ONE HAVING AN ABORTION! I'm just stating my opinion. And I said please don't throw the "murder" card at me because I don't see it as murder.

I know girls that have had babies at young ages and it definately wrecks their lives. They're young and they deserve a chance to learn a lesson.

If you don't want a baby, you shouldn't have one.

I'm not to go buy a cat because I don't want one. I'm not going to go get in a car crash on purpose because I don't feel like it.

And you talk about consequences, there are also consequences to having an abortion. I don't see it as being an easy thing to do and it's obviously going to traumatize the mother too.

I've listened to people my entire life opposing my opinion on abortion and I've really thought about it myself but I still can see a big positive to it.

AND I do understand where abortion can be the wrong desicion, I'm not that naive.
 
there is a simple solution to all of this abortion shit. DONT HAVE SEX UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO HAVE A BABY. abortions do kill lifes, but they also ruin lives already established.
 
your just being stupid. im still a teenager. im not totally against sex but the simpliest answer to the question i to abstain. anyone can do it. our society has just made it seem like sex is welcome and good for teenagers.
 
What I'm trying to say is.. most of the teenagers who do have sex definately don't think about the consequences as they're having it. I'm guessing they don't have a "pro-con" conversation with eachother before they start taking their clothes off
 
Dude, when something has a BEATING heart, I cassify it as living. So basically you killing babies, and that's just terrible. Do you know how abortions are done? Look into dude, you'll be appalled.

Your reasoning is flawed. How can you question what the child would want and then state that abortion would be better. How do you know that a child would rather never be born than live a life with parents who are not blood-related? My father was adopted. I would have his full backing if I said that he would much rather live with parents that are not "blood-related" than never have been born. In fact, he never loved his parents any less because they were lacking the same genes and they never loved him any less. And liveing in poverty? Where did you come up with that? My father lived a very affluent life with an adoptive father who was a dentis, and an adoptive mother who owned her own company. Where would I, or my sisters, or my son be if someone had chosen abortion over adoption?

I think that is the answer. Having been pregnant myself, I don't think that nine months is a harsh consequence for someone who made a mistake. Mistakes carry consequences, but there are many people out there that would give anything for a child. Two people's "mistake" could end up being someone's child, someone's father, someone's mother.

That said, there are extreme cases where an abortion would be necessary, but if the mother is healthy and the baby is healthy, and it was just a "mistake" that two unthinking people committed, then no, the answer is NEVER abortion.
 
i could never allow my first kid to be aborted. for me the first kid means a ton. i guess its probably cuz i am the oldest of my family
 
Your father is lucky. I know many people who were adopted, I know many foster parents and lots of them make me sick. I know women who care for 8 kids at once, give them nothing, and keep all the money they recieve for themselves.

I'm not saying that happens to ALL adopted/foster cared kids, but I'd much rather see a child born into a loving family than from a lonely teenage girl who isn't happy with it.
 
I'd rather see the child born. And I'm not talking about foster care, that is a completely different issue and doesn't factor into abortion. I agree most teenage girls are not ready to take care of a baby, that is what adoption, not foster care, is for. There are very good adoption agencies out there that make sure babies are placed with loving and stable families. My dad and his siblings are not the only people I know that have "successful" adoption stories. I know people on both sides of the equation--adopted, adoptees, and those that gave their "unwanted" babies a chance at a better life. Or should I say gave them a chance at LIFE, because they elected adoption over abortion. If the girl doesn't want the child she should give the baby a good life with a family that DOES want a baby.
 
u have to think about what the parents (teenagers) lives would be like if they had the baby. they would be on welfare for the rest of their lives.
 
...this is one way to have a heated debate emerge from 1 word. buuuutt, everyone has their own views that their life experiences have sculpted to a deep and definete understanding of a topic. Abortion, like many topics used by politicians to get people twisted, is a very personal decision, causing rational people to argue until their heads get so tangled up that they forget that everyone lives differently, everywhere, even your brother, or your mother, or your best friend, no one has the same consciousness, the same viewpoint. But governmentally speaking, I personally value individual freedom highest of all, and believe in the right and obligation of a "free" government to not install chains on some people's lives and views, just because some others don't share the same views, and it should leave the life choices up to the individual. I'm not saying that I agree with the act of abortion, nor am I saying that it should be legally abolished, but I am trying to say it shouldn't even be a topic to begin with.
 
wow my fav part is probably u calling everyone who gets an abortion a murderer. in my opinion life begins at birth. thats when we start measuring our lives isn't it? a fetus is not the same as a person. everyone always brings up the adoption thing too. that'd be great if we didnt already have millions of kids waiting to be adopted in this country and countless more around the world. the last thing we need is more kids in foster care. lastly i dont think the fat-cat politicians in washington should be deciding what women can do with their bodies seeing as 90% of them have never had to bear a child.

Abortion is ok when used for the right reason, if your in a really bad situation, then you prolly dont want your child to be living in a sketchy as situation where the parents have no money and cant get enought eduction to get a decent job to get themself a place to call home. I think grammas taking care of daughters babies is stupid and it tottally ruins the way the child is going to develop.

an unwanted child isnt that great for the parents and the child itself. I do believe people should WANT more kid and then making them when they are stableenought t be self sufficient. It means making sacrifices but it's better for everyone then having compromise on both your life and children life by having a child when you are not ready to.

anyway it's a case to case situation, you have to be open minded to every case and not stick to your opinion without thinking about what the others are fealing.
 
technically when you have an abortion the 'baby' has still not developed into a human being, so you are not actually killing a human being, which is why it is not illegal. i know that people have different views on when a baby actually becomes a baby, but from a scientific standpoint it is still only a cluster of cells that has not differentiated into anything. so i say yes, if abortion is what you choose, then that is your decision. i agree that people should not just have random sex and just get an abortion, but mistakes do happen, and i know that in my place in life, if i were to become pregnant i would not be a suitable parent to a baby, but i don't know that i would be willing to give him/her away to strangers, so abortion would be the way i would go.
 
^ Wrong, there are hundreds of parents waiting for a new born baby. Foster care has nothing to do with it so stop bringing it up. what are you not understanding.

And for you guys saying "technically its not a life yet" try telling that to the mother carrying the baby.
 
I definately agree, I dont think any one can really swing to either side unless they have actually been in or are in that position.

But thats just my opinion.
 
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Our "society" really hasn't changed its view on sex really. I mean sex can be a great thing. It IS good for you. Keeps the heart rate up and can be a good form of excercise. It can also be healthy for a relationship. If anything, I think we are far better off today. Why yould you say sex is bad? Honestly, yeah std's are bad. Sex is not the bad thing here. It's the ignorance of sex that is bad. I think our society is much more aware of the "bad" things sex can lead to. I mean as long as you understand you could make a baby or get a disease if you're not careful, there is abslutely nothing wrong with sex. It's fucking natural. You got a better chance at getting sick when you walk onto that subway and there's 20 people coughing around you. I mean honestly, be smart and sex is going to be very good to you. Be dumb, and it can fuck you over. That's why we have health classes and sex talks in school. Our parents generation had nowhere near the sex education we have today. I think we frown on sex more now than we did back then if anything, but that's an opinion based on one's experiences.
 
i never said sex in itself is bad. i said that people need to think about those things before they do them. you are right in saying that sex is a good thing. but what i was saying is that the ignorance and peer pressure is what makes abortion such a huge issue.
 
hahaah....you think about these things before. everyone thinks about sex, its normal, and they should think about the consequences of doing it so when the time comes they can either say that they dont want to do it because of fear of a baby or they would want to do it. your partner has to respect your decision.
