I decided I am going to give into the man and actually buy Live, cracks stopped working for me.The question is, should I dish out the extra dollars for Suite? Is it really worth the extra money?

well. i mean, 800 is a fucking lot. are you thinking about taking this seriously? if its just a hobby, 700 is quite a bit of moola in my opinion. but then again, live 8 is 450, so youre already paying a whole lot. honestly man, its up to you. read up on the differences and choose whether they make it worth the extra dolars. i would suggest reading reviews or watching some on youtube. i dont know enough about the two. im starting to think about buying or torrenting ableton, so im no pro! haha

Regardless of what I buy I can get the educational discount. So the boxed version of Suite would cost about 500, still a lot compared to the 329 for the normal one.I'm thinking Suite, just because of all the synths, and thats what I really want to get into.

Oh and I have used ableton a lot, and I am very dedicated to my music, I'm not just some rich kid who listened to girl talk and decided he was going to have his mommy buy him some software so he can be famous. My choice, regardless, is going to leave me penniless.

yeah i hear ya. you cant find a torrent for suite anywhere? the boxed version is 48 gigs haha

once i get my new laptop, im gonna try and get myself a copy. i remember hearing about ableton, but i never did anything about it.

stay away from ableton live 8 for the moment. still a lot of bugs and issues with compatability. stick with ableton 7 and learn the ropes, and then go to 8 when its not so shitty.

Ableton cracks are always half-working from the get-go, and I'm on a mac so that fucks my crack range up even more.
I downloaded the suite demo, and I'm really disappointed. I can't find any good club/ house kicks, most of the presets are garbage, and I used to use impulse for all my percussion, but now I have to use drum rack, and I dont have a pad controller, so its kind of confusing to have to play with a keyboard.
I might just go with reason....

suite if you wanna produce, live if you just want to use it to DJ/remix/loop/that type of stuff.
and to the guy who couldn't find house kicks, fucking layer some shit and sidechain some compressors
