whats more important in the skiing industry today?? To look cool and not be too good or to have the better ability not look as cool......

im talking about looking cool on the mountain.. but to me thats not what skiings all about. i would so much rather be able to grind an entire rail and not dress as styley than not be able to grind the rail and have all the newest coolest looking clothing

how many times do we have to go over this. skiing is 90% outfit, 5% equipment, and 5% ability. Lief could not have said it better.

to each their own just do your own thing. no bodies gonna hate on you if you rip but you got some gaper steez goin on but getting your style on can be fun and skiings about confidence and looking good can raise your confidence so i think that it could actually make you ride better

If we are talking about how you look while skiing, not what you are wearing; then ability and style are linked. When you are learning to ski, most of what you are learning is how to look good skiing. Someone who is a good skier is going to look good in the air or in their turns, someone who is bad wont.

When I feel out of control in the air or something and start waving my arms around I think it looks terrible, but then I watch video of it and my arms are hardly moving. Thats because people who are good skiers have been training themselves all along to have a quiet body, which is the most important part of having good style.

definatly looks. as long as you have oakley gear, i don't care if all you can do is go down the mountain while doing the pizza thing to slow down.

On my mountain all the good riders dont care about how they look there may be a kid with $800 worth of clothes but when the kid with the nice setup pulls a 180 and the kid with some old pants and a sweatshirt goes he pulls a 720 everyone sees who really has style.

yeah if your outfit is to much and your not good enough for it you bring attention that you might not want b/c ppl expect ot much of you....like fy friends getting the mmost noticable coat when hes not good when im gettin the same coat i had last year and i put him to shame...lol stupid rich kids

Skill is more important. If i see a kid decked out in oakley, i might watch him hit a jump or rail. If he sucks, then hes a rich spoiled kid, if hes good then i might try to meet him and if hes better than me, i will praise him.

it boils down to this:

you + having fun = having more fun.

so i guess the final equation is

you = having double fun.

thats ALOT of fun.

so go have fun now.

it boils down to, if youre wearing the same dumb shit everybody else is ya lame. go get some fly gear and hit the slopes again.

ive got a pretty cool "outfit" i guess.. but im not that great of a newschooler and really good skier overall if you disclude park but im gonna try this year more in the park

abillity. if you can throw some thing huge, and make it look way sick. thats wat they want. and its even cooler if you do it shorts and a jean jacket. jk

looking dope is a part of being able

your tricks wont be able to look dope and stylie if you dont look fresh. compare 2 of the exact same switch fives just one with a dope suit on and the other with a lame one

and the better one will be the one that looks cooler

im 13.. paid for all my gear except my snowpants, i mowed ppl's lawns this year and i made alottt

Really? props dude, most 12-14 year old i know (or knew, as being one myself at one point in time) never did that shit because we weren't that responcible and i was also a spoiled kid, but i never decked out in oakley, i kinda looked like a douche when i was that age ha well thats cool tho man.

yeah.. it was hard though haha i try so hard to find good deals, tj maxx is the place to be hahaha i also look on internet stores and try to find deals.. im a real bargain hunter haha
