To anyone out here in Colorado how are the parks up at Arapahoe Basin? Considering going up to lap those parks for the last time this season but I don't know if it's worth it.
 
the parks are pretty fun. you don't get a whole lot of hits per run but the mountain is so fucking fun right now and then you just whip through the park every other run defs worth it

All the parks were closed except one up top and a small little flow park type thing under the main quad.

They had 2 small jumps, a hip and like 8 rails in the upper park. The left line was a whale tail rail then an aframe tube. Right line was a down tube and then an up tower tube. There were a couple boxes to the right of that.

Also a box and rail at the entrance and a slant box above the exit.

Couldn't hit much in a row but it was still a lot of fun and some people still hot lappin.

Their flow park was closed on Sunday but it looked soooo fun. The "main" park on Lenawee is also wicked fun.

Basin is a good place to be right now

For sure. Also the weather report looks mighty intriguing.
 
jumps must be a spring thing or only on good snow years, usually their park sucks but they do have boxes and rails. sucks is all relative though and for most of the season their park gets compared to key, breck, copper, vail, beaver...

Jump take offs were 2.5-3.5 feet tall. Not terribly long gaps with "landings". Totally kosher spring booters but nothing to write home about.

These weren't a 3 set of 35' step downs or anything.

I'm confused. They haven't had jumps in 5 years nor do they get compared to the bigger parks. But what they've got setup right now is still wicked fun

This.

They built a bunch of really nice features this year and the park is sick! Great flow, 4-5 hits per lap, good range of size, etc. If you want to catch some air, there is literally an infinite variety of wind lips, cornices, and cliffs/rocks. In short, A Basin is dope.

If the skiing doesn't work for you, wear some weird clothing and pound beers in the parking lot.

Surpised nobody brought up the fact that their snow stick was burried yesterday... they got pounded in snow.

Fear the crowds! Today was wicked fun in the morning but it got full faaaast. Get there as early as you can or you won't get a spot until after 12. And if the lot's full be careful parking on the side of the road on Loveland Pass, the tow trucks and parking police were having a field day.
