Abasin park

has anyone been to Arapahoe basin this week? Wondering if they have anything set up. Trying to get another day in before summer

Abasin violently opposes park and park skiing. They'll throw up a couple of rails, but really they hate park skiers

they still do rail jams which is more than most mountains out east

I know they don’t like park skiers and I’ve seen their setup during the normal season. Was just wondering if they still have anything now that it’s only the bottom lift and it’s closing weekend

Abasin used to build a legit park with jumps and some cool rails, and actually kept it up til the end, not sure when they decided they didn't want our kind there, but they def did. this shot is from around 2008ish.

They usually have a pretty fun park up for the end of the season. Their general park offeringnis usually not that greay but deep into may or June have 5 rails and some small weird jump of sorts is enough to get you hyped when everyone else is closed.

I wouldn't say they hate park skiers.... maybe this is not a fair comparison but they at least have some features up from Day 1 to closing day unlike Breck or Keystone. I always hear "you don't go to A basin to ride park" which is true but I guess it can be a bit of a bummer when there are no other options late season.

They’re smack dab between Keystone and Loveland. Keystone is known for their parks (at least traditionally, kinda slipping now from what I hear). Loveland really stepped up their rail game this year and copper is not that far away. It would make sense that a basin doesn’t focus on park that much

There is literally one rail. It’s like 15 ft long maybe and you have to hike it. Not worth it

im just glad that there are enough park crew left to even set anything up, and that the basin would pay em to work at this point.

I went out there at the begining of may and they had like 4 rails and a tiny jump setup in the most inconvenient place on the mountain. The map said they had another but I never saw anything else setup. Idk why they dont just use the bottom bunny slope area infront of the beach as a park it would be fun for rails.
