A51 Right Now

I'm headed out to key in a week or so. All I can find thats current are the jumps which look sick, so what do they have up for rails right now?

Also, what's an average day like temperature wise for you guys?

breck is better, keystone is pretty good, its just not up to their standards yet, last year at this time it was way better.
breck has the park lane park, with like 7 jumps, and a ton of rails, and they have freeway with a really good step up/over at the end. and some more medium but still big jumps next to them.

there's an assortment of flat rails, some street style down rails, a dfd rail, a shotgun up rail, some random jib type things, a corrugated black plastic tube, a super long up box that's pretty intense looking, and some other random stuff that i can't think of right now.

its super sick right now with good jump lines the big jump line is quite big and the medium line is good the rails are nice i-70 has some super sick big boxes and alot of nice wall rides too so its a fun park and they have this huge up box next to the mini pipe that is scary looking

They have the 2 hand-rail ish downs, dunno 'bout 4-5. I just think it's weird that they'd put up 9 wall-rides before even filling the bottom half of the main line with rails. It's still way sick right now, just not nearly as good as last year.

theyve got some urban downs, flat, flat doublebarrel, mini rainbow, urban down flat down, flat boxes, flat down boxes, up down box, couple wall rides so ya pretty sick and way better than breck

A51 is so sick right now! The jumps on the big line are perfect, and the mediums are good for learning. The rails are not up to Keystone-rail par, but they switch it up really often so it keeps things interesting.

That made me chuckle. I've been out there before, and about a third of what keystone does for rails would be twice as sick as anything around here.

Besides its keystone, theres the whole mountain to ski.

ha breck has like 13 or 14 jumps, not including the smaller parks, and about 20 rails, probably 30 if you include the mini parks, plus some wallrides and jibs/bonks and stuff.
keystone is prett sick right now, but definatly not as good as keystone.

Does breck still have their second biggest park on another fucking mountain like they did last year? That's a huge reason I don't like breck, in A51 if I want to try something new I can just take a different turn off the lift, and meet whoever back at the same park life. That lift, and the adjoining kiddie park are bigger selling points than 13 jumps or 5 damn parks, especially since I come from MN where its one jump in a run and maybe 3 rails.

^^^Breck has all of his stuff at peak 8 now. But Keystone has sick jumps too...Breck and Keystone are closest this year than any other year, but I still think Breck is a bit better. What do yo mean real skiing at Keystone though? Keystone sucks for real skiing.

wtf. park is real skiing. breck = 3 jumps, pipe, 2 rails/jibs. Key = 3 jumps, and uh I dunno how many rails, havent been there in 2 weeks. Prettty dang close tho. I still think key's jumps are a bit smoother tho, dont have the last second pop likes brecks do, but whatever, you get used to it.

both are fun, but i prefer breck right now because i like the parklane park. lots of people i've talked to prefer keystone right now. if you like big jumps, keystone would be your best bet.

People act like Keystones line is huge, but it is smaller than Brecks big line last year. It is bigger than Breck by about 5-10 feet per jump comparing both big lines, but that isn't even that much and is probably going to change with the North American Open coming soon. I would think Jon is gonna build those jumps to an astronomical size. And Breck is talking like they will do whatever he wants.

I think people prefer Keystone because of the lift, mainly. Moving the other park to the same area on peak 8 seems to have just made the wait that much worse at the bottom at Breck.

yea, lift lines at breck are hell (on weekends). triple line is going to get bigger for nor am open, and is going to stay that way after the comp. Park lane destroys keystone's mid sized shits, because our jumps dont have massive kinks in em. As for big, I dunno. Comfy with freeway now, havent hit key's big line in about 3 weeks. Maybe if freeway would get some more rails, NOT boxes.

i love keystone's medium line, the jumps are smooth so i dont know what ur talkin about. oh and also if ur just startin park (not satin u are), breck's mini stuff is much better from what ive seen

dunno, maybe its personal pref or just caught key at a bad day. I just know I hit up the mid line as soon as i got there, and the 2nd boot has insane kick. whateva.

yea for learning stuff, breck is hard to beat right now.

Breck is 100% best for learning stuff...7 jumps a run man...if only they would listen to my coment cards and make all of chair 5 park or have an extra poma in freeway/parklane.

breck has more variety in sizes of features and all are setup prime right now, park lane is dope and freeway is sick as always. keystone is pretty good though right now too, jumps range from 30ish to maybe 60-70ish not sure on that. either way you cant go wrong, breckenstone!!

For sizes, Brecks big line is about 45-55, 55-60, 60-65. Keystone is a bit bigger, especially on the third, 45-55, 65-70, 70-78. I used my skis to measure them and then multiplied by 3...You get alot more airtime at keystone though. The jumps have similar kick but it feels like keystone has bigger Take-offs.

yeah id say brecks big line and kestones are about the same for size. the table on the last at keystone is probably further but you land further down on brecks last, and if you want you can take that last jump at breck sooooo far and the landing is still smooth.

Those numbers are so screwed up...Keystones first hit is maybe 15-20 feet. And Brecks last hit is 85ft this year, way bigger than Keystone.

i think you short sided keystone a little bit, but you're def right about brecks last hit but it's so smooth so its super duper fun

I tell you what I measured using my skis, first was 8.5, second was about 10, and third was like 12, my skis are just under 6 feet, you do the math.
