There are indeed some sincere ones, but the problem is that one cannot identify them, since all claim to be honest...Also...if you think American journalism is crappy, try blaming the stupidity of the masses, which are willing to watch reality TV, boost ratings, and consequently secure higher profits for the media companies that are more than willing to respond to the people's wishes (if it means more profit, of course). And it does sum up america because the press detirmes what the general public knows thier for believes. Press is a tool that is used to sway the knowalge of the world. Its true in all countries. thier may be more forms of press and more networks but they are not independant and complety truthful. They may print or broadcast differnt ideas and news but none of it is complete truth. thier are books and written documents that tell the truth but its very hard to get your hands on those and if you can you are probly a very poferful politician or very dedicated to finding out the truth with the help of a lot of connections.

When they discuss topics they speak of themselves as the world, where as our little country acknowledges it punince and opens itself to globalisation in an attempt to integrate and unite the world, while America still trys to shun it and live and rule independantly.

Take one look at Americas trade policies which are severely restrictive to certain products which are superior to that in America... Protecting the local economy is one thing but denying it from world exposure and access to greater goods at cheaper prices is just silly

Mostly, the elite few consider these outlets as business, and do not place their personal beliefs and preferences into their media, but in the case of Fox news, this is obviously not true. What about clear channel. They had a pro war rally, so they MUST be independent. Fuck that, they're bleeding heat liberals! I think al franken is on radio. Thats the only liberal I have heard of actually getting out to people. Its pointless to argue that America has a liberal/independent media. It doesn't. Kollac, a journalist can have as much integrity as he wants, but in the end, what is printed is what is king, and that is upto the editor. Most journalists, if they had their way, would be reporting on things that would probably blow your mind, but they tend to be stopped in their tracks. The fact that people want sensationalist garbage doesn't help either, of course, but the 'liberal media' tag is usually cause journalists are flaming lefties, but they are practically never put on radio, and their stories are edited or thrown away if too 'controversial'. It usually funnels down to the corporate interests.
