A way to overcome the anxiety to do a trick?

Day before you want to do said trick, watch tons of videos on the trick so you know how to do it. Then just think about yourself stomping it (never imagine what could go wrong or else that is going to happen) then COMMIT. Tell yourself your going to do it then do it.

if its on a rail or a small jump, promise yourself that you'll hike the feature until you get it. Works for me

You should look into the mental side of it as well for your paper. Being a diver for four years and #1 in Delaware, I learned that most of the sport actually isn't physical but mental, and it's the same for just about EVERYTHING! When every you are learning a new trick, or just doing one of your hard tricks, you are going to be a little nervous because there is alwayyyyys a risk. But, you got to stay confident in yourself that you can do it and know your limits. Keep the good vibes alive and be confident in yourself and you will be surprised by what you can do. Being confident, having some of your favorite music to get you really pumped and skiing with friends really is the key man. Doesn't really get much better then that for me.

You could easily say something about beer and weed in your english paper its all about the context. Dont go saying something like GEt BLAZED homie!!!11 thatll get you an F and probably sent to the office but you could say something like " due to the counter culture nature of the sport, some people prefer to seek mind altering substances to get them in the zone and help them relax Alcohol and marijuana are two popular choices, there is well established science behind their relaxing properties.

I think the most effective way to overcome the anxiety of doing a trick is through 1)Preparedness- don't panic and always be ready in performing a trick. 2)Motivation- do the trick as if you really want to and that you're forced. 3)Relax- breath in and breath out.

The key to overcoming fear lies in understanding what fear itself actually is. Fear is not real. Fear is nothing more than a feeling you get when you realize that the story you have told yourself about the future may not come true. In other words, you might think about doing a trick and realize you may be injured if you try it. This means that you realize the potential for a future in which you feel pain or are incapacitated.

Unlike fear, danger and risk are real. They exist, and the potential for injury is something you accept every time you put skis on.

So you have to ask yourself: "Am I not trying this trick because I do not want to accept the danger and risk involved?" If the answer is yes, you have made a good decision based on things that are real. If the answer is no, then you are holding yourself back based only on fear, which is not real.

Realize that this moment is all that is real, and that neither the future nor past exist at this time. Accept that there could be a future that you don't like. Accept that the story you have told yourself about your future is only a story, and you may or may not have control over how it pans out. Focus on what you need to do, be in the moment, and send that shit.

Watch someone else do it(video or real life)Get it solid on tramp/airbag/waterramp

when ur dropping in visualize it and tell yourself that you have it

I always practice set it before the drop in

Do it

Just think about how sick it would be to land it.

And if girls are watching you kind of have to do it haha

music with a drop always works for me. i have a consistent need to start a trick when a song drops. idk why, but i always nut up and land shit when im listening to trap.

Force yourself to drop in and go for it, first time I tried a flip I felt a ridiculous adrenaline rush on the inrun (felt like my heart dropped 15 feet), I didn't think I was actually going to go for it but then in midair I realized I was already in the flip.
