A thread of Problem Solving

Problem: Are there any positive integer a,b and c that satisfy the equation a^n+b^n = c^n for any integer n >= 2? Show your work.

Hint: you can't

3, 4, 5, n=2. Too easy to bother showing work. Unless you meant that it will hold true for any n value >= 2. In which case the answer is no.

When my math teacher told me that I would use the Pythagorean Theorem in real life, this was not the type of application I was anticipating.

I got one I thought up

Problem: How do you levitate a paper plate in a room without touching the plate in any way at any time. No pressurized air can be used either

by just waiting til the wind blows it away

Problem:

How can someone heat up a metal to a liquid state without laying it on a heating element or using a flame forge?

Hint: The metal floats in mid air while Heating up.

Fill the room halfway with water

I'd post a proud solution to a problem my family had that made for a sorta funny party trick. In JH for the weekend and my dad whips out his new dual burner grill that hes all excited about. We were making reubens for dinner and had the tightest jar of sauerkraut ever.

My pops can't get it open, brothers can't, one of my brother's fratty friends tries to muscle the jar open. Luckily I'm a clever son of a gun and grab one of the silipints that are made of silicone and it fits over the lid perfect. Put minimal effort and its the easiest thing to open from there.

As cool as you all may think I now am, just remember I'm only a mere mortal human, you too could someday open that sauerkraut lid.

Bingo!

Solution:

Fill the room halfway with something more dense than the paper plate. A really dense gas would have worked also
