Seriously, WTF. Our country is in HUGE debt and you want to give a tax break for owning a pet that's almost as big as the human dependent deduction? Owning a pet is a personal choice that should have absolutely nothing to do with paying taxes. You might as well give me a tax break for skiing, that shit's expensive.

the only way i could see that holding any legitimacy is if they were service animals. because those actually are expensive.

those might actually cost more than the $3500 of tax credit they are asking for here. you can buy a nice lab for like $600. getting it fixed and feeding it would maybe almost cost $3500
