A snowboard company making skis

thats right you read it right LIB Tech who makes the gnu (and some other) boards has made a ski using what they call magne traction. Its real tough to tell from this picture but i saw the skis today the edge actually has a wave shape to it (so the edges arent straight) they say it really makes the ski hook up PLUS they will be great for rail skis because if you dull the edges underneath the foot the way these skis are made the other "points" in the edge will still grab onto the snow check it out

i messed up heres the pic

I talked to somebody who rode them and said that they were some of the funnest skis he has ever ridden. But they are kinda pricey.

yea the skis pictured are gay i have seen the mervin manufactoring catalog and there are a tight pair of skis that look like the striped ninthwards but they have that jagged side cut that is shaped like a white-caste fry lol they are tight though

might be the future of edge technology with their wavy edge, sweet design, not sure if it works that well on ice, I rode them in spring conditions

i think its a stupid design. If i was skiing i would want all of my edge to be cutting in the show. When i carve i want that edge to hold to as much snow as possible. With this thing you have less edge contact. I just don't think its a good idea.

holy shit stop the fucking press! no way is a board company making skis! i coulda sworn i heard about this at least 3-4 months ago!

Seems like the edges would have more stress on the down parts causing them to tear up easier...How do they preform on rails and park conditions?

youre dumb, on regular skis only 2 points of the edge are making contact with the snow at a time, with these, several more points of edge are making contact with the snow during a turn

They are some fun ski's I got a pair and they rip the turns even with the edges detuned. Before i detuned the edges they turned so bomb. Deffintly better than any other companies first shot at a ski. I would recomend get a hold of some.

does anybody have a close-up pic of the edges? i'm kindof having trouble conceptualizing them

There are currently 36 threads coming up in the SEARCH BAR on the topic of Lib Tech Skis. Which by the way Rossi.Quicksilver owns and distributes out of the new mountain center in Utah.

And by the way the skis are horrible. I've skied all of them, they have a long way to go before they'll be a successful ski lineup.
