A ski trip on your own?

I was thinking of taking a skiing trip by myself. Has anyone else done this, I'm wondering if it will be fun or just suck. And I am not really sure If I should just sleep in my car If I'm by myself or what, but then there is showering, anyway, any ideas?
 
i've done it a few times before, and it is quite a zen-like experience. you learn a lot about your skiing.

on the other hand, it can get lonely. like when you stomp something you've never tried before, but no one that you know was there to see it.

all in all, i'd say just go for it. then you can say you've done it, and get it out of the way.
 
What are you like 15? Of course you should take a ski trip by yourself. Although I'm not sure if you'll be able to sleep without mom and dad 10 feet away. Doing ski trips by yourself is a lot of fun. Just go somewhere you've never been before and sleep in you car.
 
i have done alot of skiing by myself.

its actually better than my usual situation of skiing with average snowboarders.

i skied with Jibtastic once.

that was fucking sweet.

when you ski by yourself you forget how much you suck at skiing.

so if you ski with a crew all the time, feel lucky, it has made you a better skier.
 
do it but stay in a hostel.

some French freeskier once said (dont remember his name) "partir seul est le meilleur moyen de ne pas l'être" which means leaving alone is the best way not to be [alone].

The first time I went traveling alone changed my life and the way I look at it. I was a bit scared about it but I had won a lot of money at that time and I had to burn it. Traveling on your own.. you will make awesome friends which share much more interest in skiing than your friends back home, which makes it a lot more fun, and a lot less bullshit.

Traveling with friends from back home, even skiing, always ended up in fighting and bitching at one point.

This summer I went to New Zealand on my own and it was the best experience of my life. Within HOURS of arriving in Wanaka I met people who I now consider some of my best friends. The sheer number of friends I made in Wanaka and Snowpark still blows me away.

Maybe it doesn't work for everyone but if you're a bit social, I'd consider it an advantage to travel alone.
