A Ski Season: Primetime in Places, Ending in others.

Alta, UT just recently had a storm that dumped 51 inches in what, 3 days? And has reached a snow total of 496 inches for the year and it is the 1st of march. At a place where it seems the season will never end this year, it is hard to believe that it might be coming to a close in another.

Today it was 60 degrees in CT. It was probably 50 in central Vermont. Rain is in the forecast for this week, as well as warm temperatures, which may brutally punish some eastern ski resorts. I figure unless it becomes cold and dumps some soon, my ski season is going to be over in 2 more weeks.

My dad and I almost spontaneously bought airplane tickets for Salt Lake for this Thursday, but we didn't. Honestly, I am dissapointed it suddenly has become warm this week. Skiing in mashed-potatoes sucks.

I just think it is very unusual how the western mountains are having a tremendous year, getting absolutely dumped on and already reaching or surpassing their annual snow falls, while VT seems to be rapping it up. Hopefully I'm wrong, and next week it will get real cold again. But rain mid week may be devistating.

For Some reason the Winter in the southern hemisphere is starting really early!!!!!!! Good for me as i am in Chile until July, ill be able to get a good 2-3 Months of Skiing in.

 
Tomorrow it will be 60 here in PA. It really blows...I really hope it gets cold one last time to snow.

if it rains again tomorrow like it's supposed to where i live in Wisconsin, all of (or at least most of) our snow will be melted. It sucks. oh well, i already ordered some new skateboard shit so i'm ready, but i really wish i could keep skiing.

Conversely, down in the southwest, San Berdo Mtns just north of LA. We had no winter.... i mean nothing... it was all man made bullshit and then suddenly last week into this week we have received 4ft on some hills, and now they are still expecting more, although it is still really hot the days it isn't snowing, so ... go figure

When I got in my car today I was shocked and pissed off to see my display read 70 degrees outside, I was like fucking shit and I realized the season is most definitely over. That is unless my parents decide to let me rock at park city later this month.

Yeah it is not looking good for the east. BUT LET US KEEP HOPE! You never know. It happened last year, we got 2 good dumps in mid march...could get could soon and do the same thing. However, last weekend kind of scared me.

Time to break out the disc, cause it is almost ultimate season, heh.

Seriously though, out west they are getting pounded on. I remember the weather channel right before I left tahoe a couple weeks ago saying they had like 6 god damn storms lined up out in the pacific....it's insane. Lucky bastards ;)

Where are you? Cause 50 and sunny = disaster in Vermont. That is how you LOSE all the snow, and whatever is there is heavy and mashed potatoes man. Gimme 25 and sunny any day, I'll take it over 50.

Hey naturalborn....where do u live of maine?

I used to live there last year.skied at sugarloaf and sunday,but my favorite is Big Squaw,near Greenville.I skied there every weekend and it was daaamn fun,even if they didn't have a park or good terrain..The trees were awesome.

Lucky me,this year i'm in the Canadian rockies,but i still miss Maine.It was a good fucking year scratching my balls all day
