my tag is Triple_Strum, but my name is Russell. I've been on NS for three years now - member 20K something. I am not the oldest vet, but I have enjoyed NS as much as anyone over the past three years, and hopefully contributed a bit as well.

Anyway, I wanted to say thanks to the guys who were the original nerds who started this site and keep it running day after day. I have posted pics, a couple of videos (anyone remember my tandem-ski?), bought and sold a lot of things, and learned lots about skiing and ski equipment in the meantime. It has been a fun release from being serious (I am an 8th grade teacher - stress comes quickly and in large quantities :) It has provided me with gear and information I could have never found elsewhere considering I live in Virginia. So, if NS has been good to you, say so here. This is not the place for comments about what could be improved or things that annoy you or comments towards anyone else, but simply thanking the people who run the site and encouraging them to keep up the good work. Let's have positive posts like this make it to 5 or 6 pages instead of battles and arguments. Thanks NS, Bishop, Harvey, cko, and the rest of the people that got is started and keep it going.

man, ive only been on NS for like 2 months about and its so much better than any other website. sometimes wen i get bored and wanna watch skate videos i go on TWS and the only videos i can watch are pros with completely amazing style who i will never be like, but newschoolers has all the things i do like SKI(obviously), tramp, skate, and dumb shit that is funny. keep it up NS u guys are sweet

when I first joined, I was a little kid racer who didn't know shit. I searched google for some info on atomic tweaks I believe, after seeing the originals on the hill. I got a hit on newschoolers.com, browsed for a few months, joined, posted, and never looked back. Now I'm like a newschool expert, and can tell anybody random specs about almost any ski, and ID almost any year of any twintip ski on sight. Oh god, I've come so far. Thank you Newschoolers

Nicely said. I agree, once I discovered NS it was all downhill from there. Thank you NS for making the summers bearable for me again. Thank you all and good night!

word, i heard about NS like, 4 years ago i think. was on here but someone got on my accoutn and got it banned. anyways, i bought my first pair of twins, having no idea what they were and if they were good or not. turns out they were fujis, and i got lots of advice. i learned how to man up and hit a jump. how to try 1's and 3's for the first time on 5 footers. i wnet from absolutly 100% noob to alright, but its an amazing feeling to progress. without NS, i dont think i would have

1. bought twins

2. tried spinning

3. been so interested in skiing

4. have skiing be my life

5. ... skiing ... my whole life.

6. and finally, progressed as mcuh as i have.

thank you NS, you guys all deserve a pat on the back

I am amazed at how run this site is. Allowing 80,000 teenagers to post whatever comes to their mind in a forum and still be able to have intelligent discussions is nothing short of a miracle. The site is updated quickly and changes are constantly being made to improve the site. This is the main reason that there it is the only site needed for park skiing. I am amazed how much time i can waste on this site; and at the same time how quickly i can find the answer to any skiing related question that comes across my mind.

i found NS like when it first started. before 2001 sometime. I didn't even sign up just because it didn't seem like much was going on. I forgot about it for a while and then found it again a few years ago. Its completely different now. There's a lot of bullshit which makes it interesting, but there's a lot of good stuff too.

Newschoolers has made me a ski nerd. My equipment knowledge is immense, its making me forget... important... things.

YOURE A HOOKER!!

oh, and NS is the shit. THE shit. i go to a school thats not by a mountain so this is kinda my escape until i go back home.

triple strum, youre an 8th grade teacher?? and yes i remember the tandom ski hahaha!

this is the kinda stuff that i love about ns

been here since april 2003 and i think im under the 20,000 mark, wow i def love this site with all my heart.

i remember as a youngin all i did was watch what was going on round these parts. i have only been posting since like 05. but i read almost every thread from my heros.

harvey and other people, iceisscary, crystal, mommy, lat. all the PPP guys,

oh and mods were like gods to me.

i was a NOOB.

i make sweet sweet love to NS. But seriously, NS has really done a great job of connecting all freeskiers across the U.S. This year, when I made my trip from northern Kentucky to Park Cirty, almost every skier there rockin' some twins had a NS account. It's just awesome being able to go out west, exchange NS screenames with peeps, coming home and still being able to talk to ppl out west. thank you NS!

word. plus, the layout of this is soooo easy compared to other forums. nice and simple, tons of info access, and lots of people willing to help out. all in all, also very reliable to buy/sell to and from most people on here.

nah man, they are great - you just have to get used to them. After all, you were one once. Take one skiing instead of smacking him :)
