A sad few days in Baker history.

Let me state this simply-- Baker is no longer a safe, friendly mountain. Five boards stolen yesterday, and 3 or 4 pairs of skis, mine included, in a location that has been "safe" for the last 8 years-- The front rack. Today, five more boards stolen, and I don't know how many skis.

Merry Christmas, Mt Baker.

it seems like a bunch of people are getting stuff stolen right now. such a horrible thing to do.

im sorry mang

That is some fucked up shit. I feel shit for you man. Especially since you're a pretty baller mofucker. I hope whoever took them is killed in a very bad way. I always get ski check for my shit just to make sure, and it helps me relax when I'm in the lodge and shit.

This stuff is gonna be rampant during the holidays everywhere. Everyone should invest in a lock. I got two pairs of skis stolen this year (although it wasn't from a resort) and it sucks ass

im going to start separating my shit... although it doesnt help when you have the only pair of those skis on the mountain...

Hey never wish bad on somebody else because then karma will come back to get you as well. Just know that karma will fuck them later in life, and that karma will come back to get you in life positively.

But yeah man that sucks. I definitely split my skis each time I put them on a rack these days.

That fucking blows man. You know that show Bait Car on tv. They should have winter sport version called Bait ski. Get the nicest set up as bait and have cops ready bust.

yah dood anybody who stills skis is a bastard ass hole and does deserve to crash and burn if they every use the stolen skis...i feel u mang...two of my friends got their brand new skis jacked last year...fuckin kids these days

word last year we had never herd of this shit all of our shit had always been safe but this year latley so much has been stolen. not just skis either they went through cubbies and just took whole bags. latly it seems like there is someone getin there skis or board stolen every day. including mine. shits fucked

you guys should set up a trap. get a pair of new skis and put them onthe rack , set up a camera in a place nearby and constantly watch your shit till the person comes to steal it.. then kick the shit out of them..

you guys should set up a trap. get a pair of new skis and put them onthe rack , set up a camera in a place nearby and constantly watch your shit till the person comes to steal it.. then kick the shit out of them.. and post the video on here.. just make sure you wear goggles and a hat soo they cant tell who you are on the video , and youll win some youtube awardd for being a Sick cunt. haha

That fucking sucks dude.

Whistler has a bait ski program now, kinda like the Vancouver Bait Car program. Apparently it works pretty well. And those who are caught get banned from the mountain. They should probably be charged as well, but at least its better than nothing.

Seriously kids, lock your shit up.

I usually lock my stuff up but now I'm going to be 100% sure I do. my friend has a condo right on the mt. and when we go in for some eats we leave our gear on the porch. I'm locking it this year.

sorry to hear that man, sum ppl have nuthin better to do then to ruin other people's good times... my bro's 06-07 burton dominant got stolen from windham, ny last year, he ended up having to rent a board even though he literally just bought a brand new one a few days b4 = [

Gear thieves are the lowest of the low. They should have to wear a scarlet F on their chests at all times to symbolize that they are Fuckups to society. And if they steal again, they should be strung up by their achilles tendons above chairlifts.

fuck that dude are u serious? im gonna get ski check when i come bak to B ham im sorry bro if i see your shit up for sale online or seomthing ill let u know but sounds like a bunch of fuckin punks are jsut rollin up there on xmas break tryin to bring negative vibes to such a happy place like baker/ i would have never thought that it would happen at baker.

Man it's so whack that they would do this to us locals. Us locals rarely check our skis/boards in, because its just easier and quicker to place them in the rack. I'm actually so mad that I showed some Canadian kids some secret powder stashes from first chair on Saturday.

There's nothing worse than not being able to do anything about this too.

Hahaha, don't say some shit like Canadian's don't steal:) Whoever it is, you are scumbags and you will get caught. I love the setup idea offered up above. Catch them in the act.

shit...haven't heard much of any of that shit going down in the pacific northwest in general. It's GOTTA be some outsiders, man. Same thing happened to me, but it turns out he was from NY and thought my new skis were his (probably BS, but whatevs) and he kindly returned them to me without a problem. His did look a lot like mine though, he found them two racks over.

Hopefully the perp gets caught and gets expelled from this shithole called the PNW forever.

This is a really sad thing especially for baker which is the mountain i frequent most aswell, and yes i am canadian ... I know the canadians u were with im pretty sure because i heard about your skis today from one of them and no it was definatly not him ... no disrespect whatsoever i totally feel for you but dont go jumping on people because of it ... it is most likely some people from farther out of town, those Canadians live just as close to baker as anyone in b ham does including myself, only takes 50 minutes to drive up there with no border line ... Nod is respect this shit sucks! lets stick together on this one and just watch out for eachothers gear, hopefully after the holidays we dont hear any more of this bullshit.

Oh I'm not blaming them for my stolen skis, I'm just now aiming at discouraging newcomers. And showing them a sick line doesn't discourage...

Ill keep my eyes open across the border, it is doubtful but if your skis pop up somewhere hopefully someone lets you know so you can get them back as well as beat the snot out of these guys.

Awww, but us newcomers or rare-comers that live a bit farther away treasure being told a couple gem places.

I don't think it would be the newcomers who steal, it would be assholes who go to the hill with intentions. That seems to be too many skis stolen suddenly for it to just be a gradual increase due to newcomers. It sounds like it could be something organized. When that ass gets caught, maybe it will all stop.

I woulda gotten a dank ass video camera too for xmas, but I was informed that because my skis were stolen and my car was hit while I wasn't there that I'm too irresponsible to handle a $2100 camera. So I can't be a film bitch either on my shit skis.

You and Kyle need to stop being festive and come back north so I don't have to drive up all the time by myself. It's expensive and lonesome :(

Also, while they may be some little organized group, chances are they are still new to the mountain, since it's only been a serious problem this year.

Haha, I know how you feel.I went to Whisler, split up my Moment Reno Jibs but you could still spot them a mile away.

tbummer to hear that, especially at baker. . .

that sucks so bad. no feeling like getting your shit jacked. two cars were stolen from me when i lived in Phoenix. can't imagine getting skis swiped, i'm so protective about my skis, and my snowboarder friends think i'm retarted for it. but whatever, safe then sorry

same problem here im theo only one rocking the new habits @ my hill and they are bright red they stand out mass. this year after hearing about all the theft i started locking them up when i hit the lodge, sometimes i go back out to the truck and stick em in the cab, my cousins think im paranoid but im like fuck that i cant afford to buy these things twice

you could actually lock your gear?

No, that's almost too logical! IT WILL NEVER WORK!

sucks that you lost your gear, but lock your shit up and it won't happen.
