its not going to help the yankees. george steinbrenner did it to piss all of boston off.

reasons this is going to bite the yanks in the ass:

1. A-Rod and Jeter the two biggest egos in MLB. Yeah that will work really well in the clubhouse. A team that can't get along off the field won't work together on the field.

2. You really think A-Rod is going to play 3rd all season long (if even through spring training?) No friggen way. He's a better defensive shortstop than Jeter to begin with.

3. Prediction by the All-Star game....A-Rod wants to be moved to shortstop...Torre doesn't want to do it, George makes him....that puts Torre over the line and he finally leaves the yanks.

4. George has just ruined all of baseball meaning by putting his yearly salary over 200 million. way to go.

5. Jeter gets pissed off by then end of the season and ends up somewhere else (possibly boston) next season.

6. Sox win over 115 games taking the division title while the Yanks fall behind us and get booted in the first round by the Orioles.

It's going to be a great season in Boston. We have a kickass starting rotation, a kickass bullpen with williamson, timlin, and embree (mendoza is due for a comeback year,) argueably the best closer in the league, nomah playing on the last year of his contract so he'll be working his ass off, pokey reese at 2nd, and of course manny hitting the shit out of the ball and making unexpected spectacular plays against the wall.

The fuckin sox could only kick the yankees ass if there pitching doesn't get fucked up. Wakefield needs to have another good season and so does lowe. Pedro needs to return to the form that he was 3 years ago. Curt needs to keep doin what hes doin. Then maybe during the season the diamonbacks will drop out of playoff contention and randy johnson will be traded to the sox so that he can be back with Curt. If that happens then the sox will win, but since its the sox it probably won't happen.

And the cubs is where its gonna be at this year anyway so fuck the yanks and the sox.

(i grew up in CT so we get the liberty to choose from NY and MA) and i used to respect the red sox up until yesterday... i love the rivalry, i love goin' to Fenway decked out in my NY shit, but John Henry (the sox owner if ya didn't know) is a whining pussy!!!

he supported not having a salary cap up until the A-Rod trade. now that its over and the Sox fucked up the trade and lost A-Rod, Henry whines that now there should be a salary cap cause the Yankees buy up all the talent, yet, its a fact that Boston currently has the #2 collective team payroll in the league. and speaking of buying talent, wow, where did Schilling come from??? hmmm hypocritical much?

but as for A-Rod, its just plain ignorant to make him play 3rd. you don't take the best player in baseball and put him at a new position and pay out the ass for it, its retarded. regardless of whether Jeter is the team captain or not, he belongs at 3rd base, the level of skill isn't even comparable.
