A really good camera

I was looking at buying a camera, i want one that takes cristal clear pictures from a good distance and it can take really good and long videos, I want to spend less than or around $1500 and it has to be able to attach to a computer, to upload videos and such

Wait are you talking SLR with video like the 5d Mk II or like a panasonic hvx200 type of camera haha?

this is what you do

you get an hv 30 off amazon.com for around 600 dollars

then you go and buy a letus mini 35mm lens converter for the camera so u can get those clear shots u want and shit(around 900) and then find real cheap old lens's off ebay.

done.

you should be good to go with this complete package

That was the stupidest thing i've ever heard, you can't get a "good" picture from a video camera, its like 2MP. I suggest buying two cameras, video and slr.

not at all.
That camera would be shit for what this kid wants, assuming he wants to film skiing. The video function is geared towards still life stuff, there is absolutely no video autofocus, and it would be pretty damn hard to shoot action in general.

Are you serious? Adding more glass will make any picture less clear... And have you ever tried to take a screen shot from a video camera?

This thread is fucking stupid. [url=http://www.justfuckinggoogleit.com

Btw bottom right appears to be a nikon 13mm in which case this is a very very cool picture. They are so rare they're going for double what they were new back in the 70's.

few problems with the 5D that ive read on

-AF is really slow so get ready for your focus to jump back and

forth(this is only a problem if you're shooting moving subjects...oh

wait...

-be prepared to always shoot with a tripod because there is no in-camera stabilization

-Internal Mic is terrible and picks up lots of sound from internal AF motor

-really hard to focus from the LCD screen

-accurate focus is much more important because of the difference in depth of field

-You'll need a huge memory card as 1080p is about 500mb per min. of footage

-Image degrades due to heat so you have to give the camera time to cool

down between longer takes(problematic on a hot day,

maybe trying the same shot over and over again?)

-need to convert every file before you can edit

I love my 5D. The video is great!! As for your points,

Af is terrible, just prefocus

I have been able to hold the thing pretty stable using the strap

all internal mics are terrible, but i do agree with the af motor

pre focus with the viewfinder and your are golden

you can get an 8gb for $50 and high speed, that holds about 25 minutes which is a lot of clips

no need to convert!!! its in .mov, its perfect!!

recommending the 5d to this kid is dumb. he wants to spend 1500 dollars for something that doesn't exist.

we coulda just told him that right away.
