I started skiing when i was 2, i wanted to ski because my older brother did it and i worshipped him.

this question is for you kids that have only been skiing for like 2 years.

Why did you start?

hash...weed...kif.... what funny names! is this 'weed' stuff tobacco? do you really smoke actual weeds from your garden? hash? do you mean 'half?'

uuh yea i moved here like 5 years ago from south africa...soo didnt really have a chnace to ski there...when i got here i admit that i thought snowboarding was cool so i looked around for some shit like that...that was too much money for me so i saw that skiboards were super cheap so i tried taht for 2 seasons going up about 5 times in the seasons, then i realized that shit is gay and then just went to the 153's reazlied its almost even more gay and then came to the connies this year...aaand im pretty stoked on that shit.

i started skiin because my school had a ski club. I just thought it kinda sounded like fun. The plan was all along to switch to snowboarding, but then i started freeskiing and i just couldnt figure out what the hell i was thinking back then

i hate posers! Pot leads too... uh i forgot. Thats hilarious wherever i heard it.. Its on here somewhere.Thanx to harvey for such a kick ass site

my best friend went to skiing

and I went to a school program where they told us that we can't have a lot of activity outside school so I drop hockey and I went skiing 6 years ago but now I ski more than I was playing hockey

my friends used to ski, so 2 years ago i got my self a pair of atomics (the little red ones), then i got better and snapped them so i got some mad trix juniors, they totally gave out on a table top so i got atomic freezone jrs, they broke on a preseason fall so i got concepts, i have progressed so much on them, 2 years ago i couldnt do a blue square run, now im doin 540's and rails

my step brother was always going on skiing trips to tahoe, mammoth, aspen, france, and a bunch of other sick places. he seemed to love it so i wanted to get into skiing so he took me skiing for the first time to sunday river on my 16th birthday

my best friend steve took me, but i didnt want to race and i already did agressive inline and saw the x games skiing big air (summer x) and wanted to do that kind of skiing b/c i didnt like racing.. but i love all parts of skiing now. except for racing..still dont see the point.

I sarted when I was 2. Stopped skiing alot when I started playing hockey. Played hockey till I was 17. Then I was going to snowboard, but all of a sudden there were skis that could go both ways!

i first learned when i was 8 with my school's ski club, then i didn't ski the next two years, then each more each year, then finally this season i got in 30 days.

i started skiing when i was little, then snowboarding got popular and i experimented with it every now and then, but i still skied more often and have never made the full transition to snowboarding. so i stuck with skiing while snowboarding was in its prime and now its skiing's turn.

I started at like 3, my parents took me to this little tiny hill about 75 feet tall. Then when I was like 5, I went to bigger hills, and my dad used to be able to do cool stuff, like 'double helicopters' and 'mobiuses' He like forced me to go off jumps for one day and said if I didnt like it I didnt have to do it. Well I liked it and I got my first pair of twins when I was like 10, in 1998

 
started when i was 3 cuz my parents ski..then just got into it mostly cuz i would ski with an exboyfriend of mine and he made me get a lot better because he is crazy good.

i started when i was like 8 or 7. My mom thought it would be something for me to do during the winter. I started riding all the time after that, and then picked up my first copy of Freeze and have never lookted back since.

 
i know you said this was for people that like started 2 years ago and such, but i started when i was 2 or 3, would have to count, because my dad just wanted to see how i liked it, did it in nice snow at ski acres, mmm hmmm

I was raised on skis, but when I started competing in freestyle competitions (FIS) I got introduced to new school and after Andy (Woods) won the open I was like, 'I have to do that!' and so I took it from there.

 
I started skiing when I was 1 1/2, my dad was on the canadian race team back in the day. I inherited his love for it.

I started skiing when I was 2 because my dad used to take me up in his arms when i was one, and he'd hold me while skiing down. I loved the adrenaline rush of going like 4 mph, so i started skiing and when I was 5 I, unknowingly, did my first black run and I bombed the entire thing. That's when I realized, Yes at the age of 5, that skiing was my life.

I re-started skiing 2 years ago. I skied form 2-7 snowboarded from 7-14, now I ski again. I started up again because of my bro, he skis and i hated being slower than him and his friends. Also, watching Ski Movie had a HUGE impact on me.

I started skiing because I learned how when I was three, I'm lazy so I didn't have to learn a new sport. (Snowboarding) Then I realized snowboarding is for posers, and then I realized that it's easier and makes more sense to ride facing foreward instead of sideways all the time. Skilerblading sucks, and they don't allow snowskates at my mountain. That is why I ski.

been skiing since i was 2 (although not a lot of times each year) then snowboarded from 10-13, then picked up a copy of Freeskier that changed my life.

i started at 12 casue my school did a program with it, went for 2 years....quit for a year...bought snowblades...rde them for a year, then got my 1260's and thats that

ski club in junior high school, always loved jumping. I only skied maybe 5x a year, until I read freeze. I saw the tricks they were doing, then I demoed some 1080s and fell in love with skiing again.
