lines is putting out some girl skis, even tho they don't deserve them.....

Why do black people dislike me? If it wasn't for white dudes they would still be slaves.

And I'm sure I would own a few.

For a pow skis a know lots of gurls are loving the 165 PR or the 166 Mad Trix Mojo mostly because of their soft flex. Also I think most park skis would work good for gurls for the same reason especially 1080's and PE's.

I think rails in general are just a phase. - Anthony Boronowski

whats up with girls getting there own skis. why would they want different skis then us. girls skis are just intermediate skis. any real girl skier that I know would want a real pair of skis.

if they're anything like the jojo's (which they are they're exactly the same but longer)

then they are Deff. not soft!

asley really liked skiing on the new line girl ski. so did michell. K2 is making a girls ski as well. turpin was on them in whistler and commented that they were crazy soft for him but would be perfect for a girl.

a few girls that i know like to ride TM's they say they are really soft and ride nice for girls or the smaller build peopole

about girl skis juss bein intermediate skis, thats not tru. like most of these posts say, girls need a softer flex, cuz no matter how good they are, a 100lb grl juss dun have the weight behind them to push a ski down as hard as a 200 lb guy would.

i have trouble makers, they are a good ski for the fact that they are beg. friendly but not limited to those who are just starting to ski, you can get somewhat aggressive on them.

I really liked the scratch FS and the tweaks. Tweaks might be a little too stiff for somebody who's not used to skiing hard, but it's a good ski.

Is this girl just starting out skiing completely, or starting freeskiing but has skied previously?

If they're just starting to ski and want a twintip, I'd say go with 1080's.

I don't see the point in girls skis. I've always skied the same skis as my guy friends, just shorter ones. and there are lots of guys who don't weigh that much either, does that mean they should be on girls skis too? also I hate how most girls skis have flowers and stuff on them

ive never skiied with her, mind you, but from what i can tell, she probably is the kind of skiier who can handle her business all mountian, but probably wont be throwing down any switch 5's anytime soon.

girls skis do have a purpose for all of you who don't see the point of all the girl ski-market. only 10% of the girls can actually flex forward the same way a guy can, because of the bones that are in place to acommodate a baby, so they tend to lean back when they flex, putting them in a backseat position, wich any skier would know is the worst position you can ski. The companies like rossi/dynastar were the first to come out with a ski that it's binding plate was moved forward a bit, and the heel is lifted also, so that it pushes the girl forward to adopt a real ski stance, and if they still can't, well at least they're not set too far back. now I don't know if Line is going to use the same principle to accomodate the girl's line of skis, but for any other ski, for sure there is a difference between a girl's and a guy's ski. And like some of the previous posts, flex is also a major player for skis. if a girl weights in at 100 pounds, no way she can flex a man's ski, so the the same kind of ski, the women's will usually be softer, because they won't have the power to carve the ski if the companies leave the same core

i'm a girl, and i ski pe's. personally, i like them better than the 1080's but that's just me. i would wait for line to put out the shadow and celebrity this season, then have your friend demo them. perhaps they will be a pussie ski, if so, that's too bad, but i have a feeling these are not going to be your typical girl ski. just a thought, if she doesn't like them, then have her demo some others. my reccomendation would be pe's

~welcome to squawllywood~

I see most girls riding on the 1080's although I really couldnt tell you why....

I'm pretty sure that most girl's skis are almost exactly the same as most of the 'guy's skis' but with different graphics.

fakie_jibber thats insightful. thanks. never heard about that before. but it does make sense. i've always had issues trying to do nose butters...that could be part of the reason. its almost like i can't.

a lot of girls ride 1080s because they're told its the only ski the could handle. they're told its light and soft and perfect for a girl. it was sad to go to progression and see so many girls riding them..and having never tried another ski.

yeah, girl skis are def designed diferently then mens models. on some skis, they are similar, but they def build them different.

Man, this is a strange thread... people claiming mad trix are soft and scratches are heavy. It's like they all know you're on the wheelchair committee, anew, and they're gunning for the prize! Anyways, I have to reccommend something in the scratch lineup, because contrary to that one guy's opinion, they're really light (1.709 kgs/ski at 174 FS) and have a softish flex, but still handle really, really well.

By the way, by my count, 28 guys have answered this question, to a total of 6 girls. So much for it being a question for the latter...

i'm on 02 mad trix, aka 2x4s, and i do just fine. i like that they're so stiff, but this year to have a variety of skis i'm getting the skogens. way softer flex and a bit wider dimensions.

and whoever said they don't like flowers on their skis, i totally agree. i fucking hate that.

A lotta girls ride the 1080s, but another good ski would be the 1260s cause they are so damn soft too.

Depends on what she is looking to do and what kinda skier she is also.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

fakie_jibber, what the hell are you talking about? The bones that are in place for a baby? Females have the same bones as men, fool, the only difference is that the angle between the tailbone and the pelvis is wider, as are the hips to accommodate birth.

Girls skis are gennerally speaking, a marketing ploy. They are usually just old molds the ski companies recycle. As you can see from above posts, girls like a myriad of diferent skis, I personally love my SP's & Pe's.

Just get her something cheap and soft, she can replace them in a year or 2 if she gets into it. Better yet, wait till the season starts and let her demo some stuff and figure out what she needs for herself.
