Dear Sir,

My name is Nicolo Anastasi the Director Of Operations for ELDAR Innovations inc, a company that is working hard to push the limits of Freestyle Skiing. As you well know extreme sports has led many mountains to include terrain parks that include rails; the type one would use to manage down a set of stairs. We have developed a product that allows the skier to grind with his or her skis parallel to the rail rather than perpendicular. This opens the door to allow the skier to multiply the amount of tricks he or she can attempt. The, 'EL SOUL' can remain on your boot while skiing in normal conditions but we suggest that you remove it when skiing in powder, glades and other extreme conditions. The entire device, including the hardware is made of high-grade stainless steel with 6mm bolts holding the blade in place. The blade is easily removed on or off the mountain, so We are working on a, 'Quick Release' mechanism that will make it even easier, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Looking back the idea came to Egan Picken quite a while ago, when he took the idea the soul grinding from rollerblading and applied it to skiing. About two years ago Egan asked me a help with his dream, and soon enough is was a dream of mine as well. We combined our resources, and produced our best design yet that performs as well as it looks. So far Egan has been the only one using it on a regular basis, because it requires some modifications to your boot to make it work.

We are in the process of editing the new footage and still shots we collected on the slopes of Beaver Creek,in Colorado. During my stay we ran into allot of people on the mountain that are extremely interested in the product, and would like to try it. I am curious to see how may people in this forum are interested in trying it as well. Last but not least I would like to say thank you to everybody in the freestyle skiing community for inspiring us along the way... we would not have come this far with out you.

the soul plate was tried with snowblades for a while, didnt really catch on. I for one wouldnt want to ski around with it on my boot. Plus, when skiers it a rail 50-50 with one ski, and try and grab the other ski, I think it looks horrible. I just dont see it coming into fashion any time soon. But good luck.

 
is a soul plate, Line makes then for there ski boards, you can still buy them.

Its a small plate about 5 inches long, 2 inches wide that is parallell with the ski, on the outside edge of your right or left boot. you can clink on to a rail, with your ski basically running right next to the rail, parallel with it. you'd be free to do what you want with the outside ski. snowbladers tried it and it failed.

 
line invented it.. it didnt work.. if u tried 2 reinvent it line would prob sue u... im sure they have a patant... i cant imagine it works anyway and it must look extremely gay... other than that i think its a good idea... hahahahaha

Why wouldn't you just 50-50 the damn thing... gives you the opportunity to turn and reg. grind the thing halfway through if you so desire. And I second the comment about not wanting it on my boot when I'm not in the park. Soul plate = bad idea.

I tried this like 6 years ago.... bolting a piece of metal to your boot does definitely work.

I think the problem is that it looks really bad when you're grinding. Rollerbladers pull it off by having their boots almost undone when they grind, but the stiff tops of ski boots and the straight legs this causes makes it look really bad.

You should make it more low profile, and of plastic that doesn't fuck up how your boot looks. Plus, undo the tops of your boots, it'll look better.
