A new ski game

I want to give you guys as much control as possible without making it

open source. Sort of like those nuclear glove boxes that Homer uses in the Simpsons. You

can mess around all you want with the game but you can't take it home.

It is technically possible to make the game downloadable without making it open source but it would ruin a few of my plans for the future.

understandable , but how would It ruin updates ?

let's take minecraft for example : you can just force update it from your driver.

By that I mean I don't like promising things and end up disappointing people. I have a general direction I want to take the game but the last thing I want to do is claim a bunch of stuff that I don't know even how to do yet.

I absolutely love this game Malcolm, you've done a great job at actually getting work done on the game, unlike a lot of other ski game developers. A couple of days ago, I got pretty nostalgic, so I went back and played Jibbin on my dinky old computer. I played it for a little while and found myself being able to do a wide range of tricks that I can't do as easily as in shred sauce. These were mostly really simple tricks like rodeos and even big threes. Jibbin's spin mechanics are different than shredsauce's, where the later you start to spin after releasing the jump button, the slower you spin. This kind of gives you the aspect of setting a trick, which I kind of like. Just thought I'd pitch an idea to you, you're doing great on this game, keep up the good work!

I added a duplicate button and quarter pipes to the level creator. I also tried making the mountains in the background not look like a two year old drew them, they still need work haha.

The option to link objects together would be extremely useful, say you create a feature using multiple rails and jumps etc and discover you need to move it, it's near impossible.

When you press the "delete" key to delete an object, it actually duplicates it. You need to hit the delete button below the sliders to delete the object.

Oops, it wasn't saving the original when duplicating. I fixed it though, let me know if it's still doing it.

Don`t know how hard it is to make, but an opportunity to cut the objects, Making the rails smaler would be perfect to use when making C-rails without those thing sticking out of it

Like a gallery of the custom levels that can be sorted by date updated and/or rating??? please for the love of Ullr do this, sorting through a thread to find the best levels sucks.

yes this would be extremely helful and probably would boost your games rating a lot more online. Some sort of way to list out all the levels through a one click line, followed up with a forum that would be similar to new schoolers but would allow people to share and edit levels. Also, having top rated, etc levels would be very nice to play going through all of the levels now suck ass

Yeah it's annoying that an account is required but it allows people to rate maps and sort by top rated. It would be great if somebody could make a website with that function.

i think it would be sick if you could tilt the skis up and down to do nose/tail taps and shit. could be the l1 and r1 on ps3 controller

When do you think there will be an option for styling out your character? I like the way he is now but it'd be nice to get some variety in there.

Also, please. Please. Please. Make a redo button and a recent map option in loading. I just perfected the all the rails from the new slopestyle course at x games and I had to go so I accidentally clicked main menu before I saved.

update?

What we need:

Tricks: Rodeo button, Presses, Octo, Superman, Scremean

Custom: Tiny jumps, something so we can adjust the shape of the ground rather than just putting a shit ton of landings in, rainbow rail, Big wall ride...basically errrtang das in the origianl level

and a outfit chooser would be cool, but I'd rather have the other stuff

^ik that, but someone suggested a button for roedos, and if taht was good, then it would be way easier. I see why it is better to do it the other way, to control speed and all that

anyone remember http://freerider2game.com?

theres a section on the website where people saved their codes and could name them n stuff, a place where everyone could easily access their previously played codes.

i feel like this would be a nice touch, instead of searching through pages on the "Shredsauce Custom Level Thread"
