A new ski game

***ATTENTION PS3/XBOX CONTROLLER - PC USERS***

So I figured out 99% of the button mapping and compatibility issues.

Instead of the link Malcolm provided in the Controller Desc. on the site, use this:

http://www.xinputer.com/download/MotioninJoy_071001_signed.zip

It's the latest version and all the same steps apply, except with this version it actually recognizes all the controllers and the mapping system is better.

Here are the button layout instructions:

1. Once the controller is synced into the DS3 Tool and connection has been established open the *Options link next to "Playstation 3" choice.

2. Here is a working layout:

(Lincoln Rotation is still not working, I'm changing things around trying to figure it out, but it may be something Malcolm needs to correct.)

Hopefully this helps some of you get your controllers sorted out.

would be nice if the controls would be like skate 3. like putting down the joystick make you crouch and then when you put it up it extends your body and you pop. could be cool to be able to suck up your knees in the air too.

BTW congrats really great game

Sweet game! The rails are on point. The jumps are a little too unrealistic though would be nice to have a more normal spin speed. But overall sooo fun!

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! This game worked perfectly the first time I played it but now it just blatantly doesn't. I'm using a Mac with keyboard controls and it doesn't let me control a damn thing and just glitches out. How do I fix this?

this is the only game i play.

things to add:

shifty for keyboard

more features for the park/more parks

butters

banana backies

session markers (or like set the restart point basically. press button to set restart point, when you restart, that is where you go to)

mad props to you for this sick as fuck game.

I don't mean to be condescending, but you might just have to click onto the game. Open it as usual and then just click inside the playing area and it might activate the controls, if you go to another page or scroll then you need to click back into the game to get it going again.

Don't worry, I tried that (something dumb I might have done in another situation but not here). I mean if I hold left the whole time, the skier eventually starts doing left turning circles about halfway down the level. There's definitely something wrong.

To anybody who is curious, The Nyko CORE controller with USB cord that is carried by game stop works perfect with motionjoy and the game, all the controls are perfect as well.

Thanks again Malcom, keep up the good work.

Malcolm....you're the motherfucking man. Loving playing with the xbox controller....controlling the sensitivity and speed of the spins/flips is crucial! Really can do some flowy stylish shit.

I'd love to see some input about playing with different axis and incorporating lincolns into tricks. Anyone have some ideas about doing some realistic dubs? I've got dub flat 9's/10's and sw misty/sw dub misty...thoughts on realistic looking dub 10's/12's? How about doing just regular corks?

Also, I'm loving the wallride! Hitting it like a hip and landing on the wallride and flowing into the flat drop down flat box is fucking ill.

Looking forward to more grabs and shiftied/modified grabs in the future. Switch riding animation is spot on,

Having trouble with regular corks looking good and landing.. normal

I've done several variations of sw / dub 10/12's

best I've done with normal single corks is sort of how you do them in jibbin. take off, grab, rotate 180, press forward to lean uphill, keep spinning and play with varying amounts of pressure and length of pressing up. Same with landing right, if you go back and forth hitting up and down (relative to which direction you're facing) you can get back on axis

Anybody else have this problem? Im using a PS3 Controller and whenever i am in the air, i do a japan, not pressing anything

And I just landed on my head, got a massive speed burst and got launched back up the hill. Weird...

So when you hit rails do you lock to them or something? I'm currently awful at this game and I always jump over them or miss them. And a butter feature would be awesome, like you can do in gnrashmallow.

yes, you do lock on, the mechanics take some getting used to, but in an hour of playing you'll figure out the speed, when and where to pop, and all of that. There's a learning curve for sure, but like it's been said, I think that adds to the appeal and satisfaction of doing cool shit.

Sorry for double post, but it turns out that the right joystick and sixaxis are controlling the same thing, control mapping might be able to fix this, in motionjoy if you go to game controller pannel, then properties you can see what im talking about.

I added session markers!

On a controller: Press select to set the marker and start to restart. Hold start for a second to start back from the top

With the keyboard: Press tab to set the marker and R to restart. Hold R for a second to start back from the top

If it isn't working hold shift while refreshing the page. You'll know you have the latest version if the date is July 11 at the bottom left.

Malcolm, can I just straight up give you money? Because you have earned it, and I would be glad to give you 10 or 20 bucks out of the goodness of my heart for this masterpiece you have created. I'm sure I'm not the only one either, is anyone else with me on this?
