A new pair of twins

I'm about to step into the twintip world and havnt tried this before (never tried skis at all) just snowboard.

I think I'm gonna use about $350-400 on the skis. In the start I will mostly just go freeride but later, when getting better, try freestyle (jibbing).

So, what kind of twins suits me?

how tall are you and how much do you weigh. This will determine the range f lengths that would better suit you.

Also, since you've never tried skiing before, would you rather buy a cheaper ski to learn on, then upgrade later, or go ahead and buy a ski that might not be as easy to learn on and not upgrade a little later?

I'm about 6'3 tall but when it comes to my weight, I'm really not sure at the moment.

When you're putting it that way, I think I'm gonna start on with a cheeper pair, yeah.

you probably want to go with something 170-175 then, or in that range. The scratch fs comes in a 174 and that's a really good ski. Other people might have a better grasp on what would be good though.

yeah i would go scratches too, they were my first pair of real twins, i first had the 1080jrs(all around shit) then puberty hit and i got some mavericks(not to good in the park) and now the scratches and they are sooo good

If The women don't find you handsome... atleast they will find you handy

Ok, he's never skiied at all. I know new skiers at 6 feet who ski on 160s. If you're just starting, you're going to want to go shorter. Personally, I'd pick up some used skis for really cheap for your first year. Doesn't matter if you trash them. Get better ones when you know what you're doing.

yah around 170-176 would be good for you cause im around the same height and stevexs2 reccomended those sizes for me... 190 would be rediculouse of a size so if some one tells you they would be good dont listen to them... and over 180 would still be a bit too big

Hey, some of us are in the market for 197cm pow skis... and I'm shorter than he is... but yeah. This is irrelevant, unless you have some skis to sell me.

yeah, you could definately do shorter too. the scratch fs comes in a 168, and might be easier to control. Anything over 175 will be harder to learn on
