I suggest all of you go to the nearest book store and pick up a copy of this book. It is 1 of the 2 books I've ever read in my life. It is the only book I have truely ever enjoyed reading.

Theres some valuable lessons throughout the book. It gives me a new appreciation for life and family.

Anybody else read it and feel the ssame way?

At the age of 23, James Frey woke up on a plane to fine his four front teeth knocked out, his nose broken, and a hole through his cheek. He had no idea where the plane was headed nor any reccolection of the past two weeks. An alchohalic for ten years and a crack addict for three, he checked into a treatment facility shortly after landing. There he was told he could either stop using or die before he reached the age of 24. This is Frey's aclaimed account of his six weeks in rehab.

maybe you havent been paying attention to any media outlets, but after Oprah had the author on her show, some facts about his life surfaced that didnt match up with what he said in his book, went back on the show to apologize for deceiving everyone with his own fabricated stories in the book..blah blah blah, they even did a southpark after it

the book may have some good virtues presented in it, however it is a total farce

I'm not saying all of the stuff he said was true and did happen. Obviously he can't remember exact dialogue from 10 years ago. Regardless it is easily the best book I've ever read.

Some of the events and dialogue are obviously not right on point. But I wasn't trying to start a debate over whats real and whats now.

Point is, is that its a good read, has lots of valuable lessons, can give you a new view of life, and a new appreciation for your life.

according to ATLANTASKI anything that has any conflict around it nevr really happened. so basically thats everything thats ever happened. theres always going to be slight disputes about shit, but ATLANTASKIs remeark is blatenly ignorant and opinionated

wow who cares.....then just label it fiction. haha i can't believe the fucker went on Oprah, stupid shit. I would have just taken the money and ran. The dude OWNED Oprah soo well, but then he went on her show. He voulenteered to have is balls removed in front of millions of people..........

No, hes right. All the shit he said is known to have happened. If all that happened, the book is a fraud. If it were labled fiction, which I dont think it is (i dont know for sure) it would be fine. But since it isnt, the content doesnt match the real story and therefore the book is a pile of bullshit. I have nothing against it, I'm simply saying that the book is fraud unless it is labled as fiction.

Ok, like I said, I dont know because I havent heard anything since the news broke. Therefore, I stand corrected.

its a fraud yes, but what he made up really has no effect on the overall story, frey was an idiot for trying to embellish a story that was good enough as it was.

oprah fucking destroyed frey and showed what a worthless piece of shit he is. oprah rules

I really dont care if he made most of it up, it's an amazing book. Oprah did rip him to shreds but screw her cause the book is fantastic

Its a really good book. Most of it is real. The part about when his teeth gets pulled out and he got no anastatic is fake and about how long he spent in jail is a lie that is about it

the da vinci code is fiction and that doesnt take away from the quality of the book...who cares if its totally true, would it make any difference in your life if it was or wasn't...its a good story and thats all that matters

DONT READ IT ALL

skip over anything that has to do with his anger or the tao book.

Book of lies is what i call it

why would you read a book, where the author purposely deceived readers about bullshit story to just get financial gain? Read a book by stephen covey, depak chopra, or wayne dyer if you are so concerned about wanting self help books that are genuine

that doesnt mean that it isnt a good book tho.

i say that if its good, read it whether its fiction or not.
