A man sues God

That is fucking incredible. But even though it's funny as hell, it's just another example of how easy it is to bog down the legal system in this country with frivolous lawsuits. Fucking absurd. Case-in-point: anyone who sues a ski mountain because they got hurt.

by in this country do you mean in Romania where the story is from or are you blatantly talking about the US?

best line and pretty much the only thing i read ... "murderer who tried to sue God for his troubled life has had his lawsuit denied - as God has no known address."

with that said.. damn.. what if someone in america DID in fact sue god?

Being how you can literally sue anyone for anything in this country, you might actually be able to do it.

however... its not like you can get god to pay you or something... its not like he has tangable money.

Hahahahaha man, I got pwn3d pretty good. I guess I just wasn't paying attention since it seemed like something some idiot here in the US would pull...

well you know, God wouldnt be able to find a good lawyer in heaven.

JK lolz if you are or are related to a lawyer, dont sue me.

haha no worries man.. who woulda thought that two people would try to sue God so close together. I suppose the one in the US was trying to make a point.. but still!

I'm gonna stop post whoring now

I didnt read any of the articles, so maybe someone who has can fill me in.

My question is, if he plans to sue God, first of all, who is going to take his case, and where will it be held, and secondly, if he wins, where will he obtain the money from?

ahahahha

that made me laugh

and why would the guy do that? he must have been really bored and wanted people to know who he was one way or another

errr...read the other posts he made...two different cases.

this thread is about one NOT in america, the one phil was talking about WAS in america.

lawmaker... lawmaker... what the fuck is a "lawmaker"? i mean, if any of us can petition at any time to put something to a vote and change/make a law, doesn't that make us all "lawmakers"? that's a pretty ambiguous title, if you ask me.

and no, i won't chill.

I don't know what a lawmaker is. I assume you're in the US since you're using the term 'us', so it shouldn't be too hard for you to find out. My guess is that it's someone in government who is responsible for drafting laws.

Feel free to take the argument to AFP though. They are the source of this article: http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5gDyx13LLycF92ti2W4FfYSC0ZGOQ which labelled the dude a lawmaker.

Stay unchilled if you want.. it doesn't bother me.

He is a state senator, the whole thing revolves around tort reform not about the fact that you can sue anyone. No shit you could sue anyone for the last 200 years and don't think people didn't abuse the system a hundred years ago, to some degree it was even worse. In the past bullshit lawsuits got thrown out faster to some degree. 99.8% of the time the system works well, the other .02% is the shit nonlegal people hear about and think it is represetative of the system at large. Are there problems sure but until you come up with a solution stfu, tort reform isn't lego building blocks the place we are at now is a direct result of someone trying to fix the legal system 60+ years ago. We live in one of the greatest legal systems in the world, in which you are provided nearly endless rights and opportunities that in most other systems only come with wealth.

the guy has a point though - contract through religious institution at baptism and like he says he was not protected from evil.

to be more successful he should have tried to charge the religious institution with fraud as they offered the contract on behalf of a body that as the court says is not a legal entity. the church has an address and is an entity- and the product they deliver - organized religion with all its promises of salvation, protection etc is a scam!
