A little worried

ok so i plan on attempting my first seven tomorow, im pretty nervous and i need alittle help to prepare myself, so any tips or anything would be helpful, thanks

(oh and i used the search bar so don't hate)

basically you just have to do it. like even if you are having second thoughts right as you are dropping, go and do it anyway. after you try it once, you will feel a rush and you will want to keep trying it till you land it (if you dont get it on your first try)

spin to win homey, huck it the first time.

YOull know pretty much right away if youre going to end your self or not, then just get smoother every hit.

good luck.

there almost easier then 3's just set your spin and go with it the only thing you really have to do is open up to stop your spin

i have been told to keep turning my head by a friend, and this kid hucks hes working on 14's. so yeah keep your head turned in the direction your spinning.

I actualy almost landed a 720 by accident today. The most I've ever spun is 540. Anyway, I was hitting about a 20 footer. Even though most people say to spin with your hips, I was actually beginning the rotation in my shoulders. By the time I would leave the lip, my shoulders were already at 90. Once in ther air, just tuck and keep your head looking ahead of you to continue the spin... if you feel like you're going to overrotate, as the guy above me said, untuck and it should slow your spin down. Work your way up to it, warm up with some 540s and when you land, continue the spin so that you end up going forwards. It will get you in the mindset so when you land you're 720, you'll be ready.

Above all, best of luck!

dude the best way is just to go for it...but ill tell u a few things, throw abit harder to get that extra 180 rotation, when going into the run-in make ur mind black and concintrate fully on how ur going to throw it once u get to the lip, dont pencil it out, and u might find carving into it can give u that littile extra rotation u need

good luck!

See this thread makes me sad. I know you guys all hate mogul and actually learning stuff not just hucking, but really you should "know" how to do a trick before you try it. By "knowing" I mean understanding how the trick works, not just being able to land it. For a 7 you go into the jump just like any other jump with legs apart in an athletic stance, push against the curve of the jump and set your spin a little harder than a 3. You should set you spin lifting up and a little forward so you don’t land backseat. Don’t go early and actually pop and don’t just spin off the jump. You don’t set a spin with just your hips or your shoulders it an all body fluid movement. Yes shoulders can be at 90 on take off but if you skis are starting to spin on the jump you are going early. (Ok I understand you will all hate me for this comment) After you set the jump spin until 180 and bring your arms in aka wrap. Hold this position until 540 spot up hill and unwrap. Land with hands in front and ski away. I know that this 7 is mogul style and all but once you learn how to actually do a trick adding style is super easy. If you look at pros ski I promise you they all pop on every trick and actually know what they are doing in the air and are not hucking at all. They also know how to set an edge and carve but I don’t feel like going in to that right now.

thanks crazy bitch, you really think hes going to think of all this his first time trying?

you should quit everything else and become a skiing coach because apparently you know everything

Shut the fuck up assclown. That was advice that someone spent time on, which was contributing to a thread. Unlike your douchebag response which offers nothing to anyone. Go take a 1 hour "time out" and sit in the corner until I give you permission to come and play with the kiddies again...

Hey, i did just that while trying a seven. Lost half my season from it.

From my expieriences, only try it it you think you can pull it off.

you know you get owned when you dont have a response

please can i come out of my timeout a little early?

Think about it as 180 more than a 540 and since 180s are so easy a 720 should be easy. Thats kinda complicated but thats how i think.

dude thats exactly hwo i think. if u can throw a 5 just think about iin ur head and how high u are in the air when u have a 360 around then its jsut one more fast 3 after that. and its all about keeping ur head going and fully commit to a 7 all the way through the jump

dude dont be afraid of spins

i think there way overrated like the day i learned 7's i could barely do a 5 and at the end of the day i was hucking myself for 9's

just throw your body but not hard enough to the point were your skis shoot off cus that fucking sucks when that happens

hes never going to get anywhere if he doesnt just go for it though. you can just sit there and think about it the whole time. that only helps to a certain extent. if you want to learn how to do a trick you have to go out and do it.

Oh yeah, I know. That's a given. But really, I'm pissed i went and tried it. casue here I am, two months later, just starting to ski again. But yeah, shit happens. You still have to try stuff. Just confidence will be a big thing for me in the future.

alright everyody thanks for all the tips and comments, today was the day and i came up with the confidence about halfway through the day after doing some 540's i tried alot but i didn't get, which is a little disapointing but at least i gave it a try i came close on a couple and hope to stomp it tomorow.
