A little bit of beer education

I love this. If you have a chance to get anything from New Glarus get it.

Enjoyed one of my cellared Abyss last Sunday. Doing one, two, three, and four year bottles. Last Saturday's was the two year. Great results, round and velvety as fuck with a much more pronounced layer of cherry, plum, and licorice.

Next pull will probably be a one year aged limited Paradox American Wild--haven't had an aged American Wild Ale before so I'm stoked. Yay beer!

meal in a glass. ireland's breakfast, lunch, and dinner of champions

If you think Guiness is a meal in a glass, you are seriously limiting your beer experience.

For you IPA fans I highly recommend Chimera. Very hoppy but more citrusy than bitter and it's very smooth despite being imperial and almost 10% abv

Realizing I'm not into IPA's anymore. When I get back east I'll try a smuttynose finestkind and some other beers again and see if it's just what I've found in CO or if I'm really just not into it.

Been really digging a lot of stouts and porters.

My favorite new beer I found this winter was zonker stout from snake river brewing in WY

Got it in a can a few times while at jackson hole. Funny that I asked about it because I wasn't digging some of the other beers they had and the bartenders new nothing about it, the one new of it but was like "I hate stouts and recommend _____ instead" Best new beer I tried in a while. Really fucking good.

Idk though. The craft beer explosion has all kinds of stuff on the market. Used to hit up breweries on road trips back east but this winter in CO there seems to be a microbrew every 10 feet. Can't come close to trying them all, but I do have to say I've disappointed with a lot of what I've tried.

Might start going to the store once in a while, checking out what's there then looking things up on beer advocate. I don't always agree with them, but for the most part when I feel really strongly about a beer and look it up, we're on the same page.

100% col i would too. I personally think IPA's taste like the ground

IPA s taste like sucking kn a handful of dirty pennies everytime I attempt to like one I think the beer is spoiled when in fact, nope its just really nasty tasting brew

op is a snob I'll call it whatever I like

saying don't call it dark beer theres no such thing is like the people who say don't call it a cork 1 theres no such thing. who cares ya fuckin snoob

Shipyard winter ale is probably one of the best beers I've ever had. Maybe thats a little bold but damn it's good. Wish I had grabbed more of them while I was on the NH/ME border. Not that I probably couldn't find it in a beer store closer but I like to grab my beers when local ish to the breweries or right at and around them if I can.

wouldnt say these are my daily drinkers, both are fairly sweet, so they can get a bit tiresome. both are really refreshing. also nice to know that my beer only had to be transported 10km to the store.

I have been drinking so much Rogue fruit salad cider recently. Which makes me realize that everything I have from Rogue I enjoy.

I also don't get the don't call it a dark beer thing. Black and roasty, sweet and nutty, and heavy and bitter are all terms that apply to beers that I enjoy. And they're all dark. If it has roasted malts or barley I'm generally interested. However, black lagers, dunkels, doppelbocks and such are not the jam.
