A good skateboard?

yo so i just started getting into boarding and up until now ive been riding my friends boards but now that im out of school i want my own.

I'd probably like to buy a complete since this seems way easier

so do any of you guys with experience with this have reccomendations as to good boards that wont destroy my wallet?

but it's really really easy. your grip tape might look crappy if you do it yourself but other than that there's nothing to it

I ride a fiberlam and love it, its rele springy and near impossible to snap. Kindof a smaller company I guess but I like my board.

lol im pretty sure surf 66 is only in montreal,
i have a chocolate board and its pretty sick, i like it a lot because its heavier and has more pop, i had a habitat before which was lighter, wider and less pop but was a good board, before those had a flip and a blind which were somewhat good but so far my favorite deck has been my chocolate

I love city skates, but enjoi and almost would be my other two choices, because city is hard to find. indy trucks, red bearings, hard wheels, done.

I hate to say this but i am an element board fan mainly Bams boards. He has a really wide board and i mainly skate mini pipe so its a good cruiser

go yo your local skateshop

check out a bunch of decks by standing on them to feel the shape. you might not know what to look for but as you ride more you'll know what feels good. for trucks i recommend indys or thunders. a good average wheel size is 52mm. as you skate more you can try out different setups to find out what works best for you.

enjoi makes sick decks, super poppy and they dont lose it too fast. its really easy to put a skateboard together, the only part i havent done is griptape.

i've had a few alien workshops and i've loved every one. super poppy and they held there pop much longer than the 2 other blind decks i've had.

but really you can get by with a blank, pretty much the same as a brand name deck just cheaper...

don't worry, you will break any board in not too long so if you don't like the one you get, it's not the end of the world.

i have world industries deck which i love..

however, you'd definatly be safe with an enjoi deck, they're sick

I reccomend indy trucks and element make some real nice wheels

pretty much anything will do, the main thing is to find a size thats good for you. just go to a skateshop and they should hook you up.

i see blinds at the sports authority and other shitty stores all the time. i have a baker and it has good pop and concavity.

i don't think anyone has suggested this yet, but habitat.

but listen to what other people said and just go to your local shop, stand on a few boards and see what feels right. you'll get used to whatever you buy within a week or two.

i usto ride habitat and shit like that but as i learned more tricks i needed more of a twin tip skate, blind chocolate, think, speed demon all the way.

DELUXE DELUXE DELUXE!!!!

seriously, andy boards by deluxe distribution will last longer, have better pop, and are all around sicker then any other brand mentioned in this thread!!!! (habitat and enjoi are cool though)

Deluxe boards are Real, Krooked, Anti-Hero, and Rasa Libre. get some indy trucks, bones wheels, and Bones swiss bearings, the best bearings money can by.

dont mess with a blank complete, the bearings and wheels usually suck.

truth... i've been skating for about 8 years now and the only boards that i have truly bought in the last 5 have been mini logos. all boards break, and all decent boards have pop, why spend $20 extra for something that only lasts a month.

blank decks are not 10 dollars they are likme 30 and whyt noone said zooyork yet i have had two and they were great!!!

zoo york, indy trucks, ricta wheels, any grip tape, for a beginner... any abec 3 or 5 bearing pretty much

dont get riser pads or any of that crap

krooked large eyes. 8.125 inches baby. just set it up today. rocking some fatass indys, 52mm spitfires, and i think i have hkd bearings

I'm a big Deluxe board rider myself! Real and Krooked decks have such a nice shape to them. Although I just bought a Creature deck because I wanted to try something different. A lot of bowl riders here in Santa Cruz ride Creature. I can always go back to a Deluxe board if I dont like the Creature.

If you want a cheap but sick setup, get a blank deck/Powell mini-logo, blank store wheels, and venture superlight lows. Spend all the rest of your money on some sick bearings, basically the only part of your setup worth dropping a lot of cash on. I've been skating bones swiss for like 6 years and I love them to death.

Don't buy a deck online. Go to your local skateshop and ask the guy to help you. Decks are not like skis, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME (yes there a few boards I can name that have a weird construction feature too them but honestly all boards are the same) the only difference is the size - length and width. If you are a big guy you need a larger board, if your on the smaller one, get a smaller board. But ask the guy for help, ask him to explain the difference between decks, trucks, and wheels. And then he will make it really easy for you to pick out a skateboard setup and he will make it for you (get the good grip tape not the gay colored ones).

For a beginner, the differences between products won't matter, but you might as well go to a shop so he can put it together.

...

I used to love my baker deck until i couldnt ride it anymore. Too bad my local shops are shitty and dont carry Baker, or theyre too expensive since im pretty much broke all the time
