Hey guys i am new to the forum and i am new to the twin tip skiing world. I need help picking out some skis and bindings and boots. I have done a little research on the internet casue i have just had surgery and havent been able to go to my local shop, so I thought I would ask yall.

Im 5'11 and weight about 210 (yeah im a big guy) im in the process of slimming down. What size skis could be suitable for me. I want a good pair ot twin tips that are 100% symatical(sp?)

How do binding work? I mean like is there certain sizes i would need to get, and any flex ratings?

i wear a size 12 shoe. I think the mondo sizing for that is 30.5. i know that boots need to be snug on your foot so should i get an 11.5 size. I think thats 30.0 in mondo sizing.

Sorry about the questions i am sure that everyone gets tired of people asking but I need some help. thanks

as far as skis go, it is mostly personal preference and ability. twin tips run short, and symmetrical skis run even shorter. im you height, but only 160lbs, and i like skis over 190. at your size, you should at least be on a 180. if you are trying to choose a size, alway go long. you can always make a long ski ski shorter, but not a short ski ski longer.
as far as bindings go, it really depends on your din setting. you want your din setting to be in the middle of your bindings din range, ie, if your din setting is 11, go with a binding that goes up to 14. all alpine bindings are compatible with all alpine boots (with the exception of junior stuff, which you dont need to worry about), so you get essentially the same thing from different companies. the only binding i would stay away from is the z series from salomon. look px series and salomon sth series bindings are probably the most popular choice and are a safe bet.
as for boots, a size 12 (US) shoe would be a mondo 30.0. the most important thing with boots is to go to a boot fitter and get boots that fit YOUR foot. every boot fits every foot differently, and a bootfitter will work with you to make sure your boots fit like they should. it is not uncommon to down size a lot when getting ski boots (i wear a 11.5 shoe, which would be a 29.5 mondo, but wear a 27.5 boot). your boots will (or should) feel tight, especially during the first few days skiing them, but the liners will pack out and get a lot looser.
thats a pretty basic guide, but feel free to ask more questions

i am also a big guy, 6'5" 235, and i know they are not symetrical but i would reccomend the line chronics cause they are a park ski with nice pop and a little bit stiffer which helps carry your weight when you are big. and i know i have a size 12/13 shoe and i generally get a size 28/28.5 because you dont want all that much room to move around inside the boot cause its just wasted energy thats not put into your skiing. But once your back on your feet head to your local shop and they should hook you up.
