A couple questions about the ski show...

So, this is the first time I'm going, and I'm from Sudbury, so I have no idea how these work. All I know is there is 10$ admission.

so, my question is, what can I expect to find?

Im looking for a pair of pants, and some beater/urban skis. What prices would I be looking at for the pants and the skis?

i think you will find a good deal on pants forsure...i found a pair of black billabong pants for around a $100 last year...as for cheaper skis...you want to check out the massive ski swap... if you want them for urban...pretty much every small ski or snowboard shop is there...along with a large number of Canadian ski resorts...so you should have a lot to look at...

yeah theres tonnes of clothing there. Last year i picked up some reg 550 sb pants for 280 i think so its pretty good deals. As for skis they have used stuff but its few and far between, a safer bet would be to go around to the vendors and see who has skis that have been discontinued for a while. I know my buddy got a set of two triplets instead of three, with bindings for like 350 or something cheap like that. Theres good deals there, but theres also some total ripoffs, so you have to watch yourself.

For cheap skis, go upstairs to the swap. They even have new skis, that are a couple years old, for cheap too. You'll definately find something cheap.

Thanks guys, I'm mostly going for pants. Some cheap skis would be a total bonus. I'm going down on Saturday the 13th, so I might see some people there. I'll more than likely be in a surface shirt...

One last thing, do you think I have a chance of finding a pair of decent p10's, p12's, or fks? the fks is a longshot, but im wondering about some pivots?

Sorry about all the questions, but Ive never been.

What brands (jacket wise) should I expect to see? Is there a chance of me running into some Holden, or M6 by anychance? would i have better luck at the snowboard area?

the only stuff you will want to buy is in the snowboard places. The only thing there is at ski booths are skis, and all of the other stuff is meh. Theres 2 or 3 snowboard places (cant remember the name) that always have nice stuff every year.

just a heads up, all the good deals go thursday...

there is still tones of stuff there on the weekend, but as any event goes, all the good stuff goes the first day...

i think it is called Action Sports or something, they are a film company that sell all the extreme sporting videos, biking, skiing, etc... and they are always at the ski show with all the new flicks, and they usually have deals on last years movies, like 2 for 25 or 2 for 30 or something... If you are looking for movies this guy will hook you up, they have a booth so its legit haha.

it's ActionSportFlicks.com or Ryeka Sport. not 100% what the name on the booth will be. come by and say hello. they scooped me up from S&B so it's as you say "legit"

the only twins you will find in the swap are pretty much used ones that joe public is looking to get rid of. shops know they can get better prices for twins in their booth or store without the hassel of getting stuff into the swap.

i entered about 80% of all the gear S&B put into the swap last year. it was tedious

Yup, and everybody schould go visit the Georgian college booth and say hi to good ol Matty boy.
