What do you guys think about cheating?

I believe it's wrong, and unfair to your peers, and plain stupid. But, if your cheating on something that is not important to you, say you cheat on a test in math, but you are an english major, I don't think it matters that much. What about you?

I personally dont cheat because I dont need to but if someone needs to cheat to get by and they can get away with it more power to them. You're only cheating yourself in my mind. You're cheating yourself out of understanding things you may someday need to know.

I only cheat when its my last resort...like, my notes are on the network, but it shutdown already, and the only access i have to anything is a "certain" person's email...

EHH as far as school its a grey area, if u just dont want to study and devise a plan to get the answers than u arent dumb u just didnt feel like studying .

I have seen cheating schemes that have taken more effort than studyin itself. So if u get away with it who cares it really doesnt affect n e one except maybe urself in the long run! NO big deal

If you cheat in university you're a moron... I pay a ton of money to take those courses, I'd like to think I actually obtain some knowledge from them, whether it's useful in the long run or not.

i hate the idea of cheating. when i was in high school though, i sometimes found myself peering over at other people's tests and such, but that was the extent of it. now i'm in university, and i wouldnt think of cheating on exams. it just isnt an option. and as far as plagarism, i have never done it, and never will.

cheating on other people. hmmm. personally, as far as relatoinships, i would try my hardest not to do so. but if a relationship was ending anyway, and i really liked another girl and wanted to start something with her...hypothetically i may go for it. overall, i wouldnt want to ruin something that i cherish, so cheating really doesnt appeal to me. i have never cheated or been cheated on (to my knowledge), so its cool.

Yea JD is sayin what i was gettin at. Once ur in a university it really is no harder to cheat at all! But ur the only one loosing out. U will get to a point where cheating wont work and u will be royally fucked becuz u have no iudea what u were supposed to be learning for the past couple years!! Trust me kiddies it wont pay off in the long run!! It never does!

idk i definately see the logic in what your saying but i definately have taken plenty of shortcuts on my projects at college, because quite frankly most of the classes bore me to death and not only do i see no appplication to any of reality I have no personal desire to learn a lot of the material. I know people are gonna say "then take interesting classes" but its not always that simple being a freshman you have limited choice (I just signed up for classes this morning and didnt get any of the ones I wanted) plus college makes u take distribution requirements so like right now I'm reading about some boring french politics from the 19th century and have to write a paper on it, when i couldnt care less about it. wow i just went off on a tangent, but im just frustrated with all the work suddenly dropped on us for the semesters end, so yah dont bother reading this

we are allowed 1 page notes in alot of my classes, too many formulas and weird circuit shit to remember.

For school, if im gonna fail something, ill try and cheat a little bit but i need to maintain a 75 avg in my program. When you pay for grand a year to go to school a year and you have your parents riding your back for success, theres just too much on the line to not cheat for say like the extra 3 percent that you would need to pass.

ill cheat on multiple choice tests... for physics and stuff ill start at the top and the person next to me will start at the bottom.. just b/c we are lazy... but its dumb to cheat on most things

 
i only cheat on spanish (usually just the verb endings for certian tenses i forgot, but no vocab), but im never going anywhere with spanish so it doesnt really matter.

shit cheating, there is nothing wrong with it as long as you are able to get away with it cuz if you think about it when you cheat you ahve to be carefull and if you dont get caughter, you are kinda passing your "own" test and if its what you have to do to pass just do it

 
i have a TI-83 plus graphing calculator, and i put all my math formulas and things like that in it so i can use them during a test, thats not bad but i guess its cheating

im in high school so i see no moral wrong in it at all. i just do it when i cant study or anything. im good at learning stuff fast so cheating on tests doesnt really hurt me in the long run either.

college is a different story tho, i def will not cheat there
