jazz is a great lost art jazz led to classic rock inspiring artists like Jimmy Page as well as blues

i do, real jazz, not like smooth jazz or that crap. but yeah, jazz jam sessions are the best

im kind of getting into it. i really know nothing about it... like whats categorized as what type and whatnot... but yeah, good stuff, except all that random poetic 60s bullshit that gives me seizures... not really, but id rather have a seizure than listen to it.

^Do. So. Immediately. Miles Davis is brilliant. I listen to an immense amount of jazz, not all instrumental. Everything from Dixie to bebop.

Nothing holds a roman candle to

my fav fuckin jazz is hard bop, bebop, free jazz... fuckin a man listen to charlie parker for a while until you just flip out of your skin. I like that shit and also a trumpeter named Clifford Brown, go find the album Clifford Brown & Max Roach (it's super sick) or The beginning and the end... it was recorded the night that clifford brown died... and it's incredible.

Has anyone ever heard of The Slip? they're fucking awesome... www.theslip.com I believe... check it out.

'Skiing is so sick... I don't even understand how cool it is.'
- Luke Waldo, after watching WSKI106

clifford brown was sik, super sik.

check out I REMEMBER CLIFFORD by lee morgan. its sad or something.

Jazz is not a dead art. Not nearly, that was a foolish comment. Tons of people still make livings as jazz musicians, you can go to countless clubs and see jazz musicians play.

I like listening to Bobby Timmons, Art Blakey, Dave Holland, Paul Chambers, Jimmy greene, sonny rollins, sonny stit, john abercrombie, jackie mclean, ornet coleman, coleman hawkins, pancho sanches, tito puente, red garland, chick corea, bird, larry grenadier, pat martino, dave douglas, freddie hubbard, grant greene, wayne shorter, john pattatuchi, gorge rossi, tadd dameron, steve swallow, j.j. johnson, the list is endless.

I love me some Dave Brubeck

Drivin that Train

'time out' by dave brubeck is the most ingenious album ever. every single song on that album has a bizarre time frame. If you can count music listen to it.

take 5, my personal favorite, is in 5/4

there are some songs where there are two bars of 4/4 and two bars of 3/4 alternating and all sorts of stuff.

listen to it now.

Kami the Slip does rock, good to hear other people listening to them.

Anyway check out Dave Holland Quintet's for some real interesting, intricate jazz. And Charlie Hunter Quintet for something a little more funky.
