A-basin?

Yeah, I've got big plans to, I am hoping to schedule some time maybe between noon and 3 on October 29 to hopefully link up some turns. So if anyone knows when it will snow enough to open the resorts you should let me know so I can squeeze in some time.

Yeah the website is kinda shady about it though. It says "no official word on opening yet, but TENTATIVE opening is October 21". That is two days away-why can't they just tell us already?

They aren't. I was considering not posting that and seeing how many people actually showed up there tomorrow, but I'm in a nice guy mood today.

So so gay! They could have said a week ago that they weren't going to be open, but NO. Faggots.

no kevo they could not say it a week ago. Fool. See snowmaking is dependent on weather. If it is not cold enough they cant make snow. And natural snowfall is awefully hard to predict a week in advance. Thats why they wait.

alright, but they could have said on wednesday that they were or weren't but intstead they waited untill the day before. They didn't even update the conditions.

probably because they dont need that much snow....and they're waiting for the weather to just drop enough...plus abasin is lazy as hell u cant blame them

"A-Basin will open Sunday, October 23, 2005 for the 2005-06 ski season. Exhibition lift will open at 8:30 a.m. See you then." - arapahoebasin.com

woooo I'm there for sure

They have a ride-on up-flat box and a flat box. The lift line was about 20 minutes long and there were probably 30 people hiking the boxes. It was fun though, lot of skiers throwing down.

Yeah I was backpacking in Romo and got a text message as I got out of the backcountry at 9 am this morning saying that they were going to be open. i was at A Basin by a little after 12 and I got in about 6 runs. It was crowded, but all in all, better than expected for opening day. I was in the singles line all day and had at most a 15 minute wait. Most of the time it was more like 5-8 minutes.

unlike Parker, i got there at around 11 and waited on the long-ass lift line. then i hiked the park until closing and basically had a fantastical day!!!!! yahoo for ski season.

who do you think will have a better park next weekend, loveland or a-basin? im getting kinda tired of doing the same boxes at loveland for 3 days.

keep us updated, i dont think i'll head up for a bit, untill they get some more interesting stuff; unless someone wants to give me a ride, minus gas money, and possibly buy me lunch.

I was up today they setup some new rails. Now they have the old flat box setup so its slightly up, the old up flat rideon, a new taller longer flat box, and a downrail

same setup - 2 flat boxes / a tiny up-flat box and about a 15ft down rail. there all setup really good tho, just hit them in the morning before it gets crowded. they also opened another run.

^^the set up is sick, but they are super flat after the 2 boxes to the right unless u have tons of speed, and like he said get there early to avoid the huge divits
