__Do boots make you a better skier?__

Hey guys I was just wondering if boots actually make you a better skier like on rails and with flipping and stuff. I've had these same Nordica seasonal rentals for like 3 years now because I don't want to drop $300-400 on a new good boot until my feet stop growing. Do you like your boots tight when you ski or looser? Also other than full tilts what boots do you think would be the best for park? Dalbello, Atomic? I'm just wondering if my boots are somewhat keeping me back from my full potential?

Boots, far and away, are the most important part of your set up. The proper boot will give you far more control, balance, and comfort than you previously thought. In order to find out what is the best boot for you, go visit your local boot-fitter and try on/get what he recommends (not what others recommend for you).

They don't make you a better skier, but they can certainly help you ski better.

I personally like my boots tighter, because the more closely a boot fits to your foot, the more responsive it's going to be when skiing.

The best boot for park will be the boot that fits your foot the best and is comfortable for you to ski in all day.

Could be keeping you back from your potential, but it's impossible for us to know without seeing your foot and the boot you ski in.

boots are far more important than anything in your setup. definitely go to a bootfitter, the right boot will make you a better skier, guaranteed

Having to over-buckle boots is a pretty clear sign they don't fit right.

absolutely. i tried skiing without boots once and it was a disaster

seriously though, boots are the most important part of your setup in terms of performance and fit. you have to have boots that fit way more than you need skis and bindings that are good/to your preferences
