This belongs in M/A but I really need help searching for this and I know more then a few of you will want to find it too. the title of this thread isnt just to get you to click it. It is the name of a artist.

Heres what I know so far:

Their name is ░▒▓

The album name is █ ▄ █ █ ▄ ██ ▄ ██ ▄█

This is the album cover

This is what they do (The artist is reffered to as "Boxes" in this article):

Boxes first creates a sound collage, comprised of hundreds of samples of various things, mixes them and paulstretches them to an exact length. Then, they record the paulstretched signal onto a tape that has been recorded over hundreds of times, using an old boombox with precisely damaged tape heads. Finally, the tape track and original digital recording are synced up in post-production.

You can't google them and you cant search them

The only way I found out about this was by accident when I stumbled upon this article from PSU. This is also the only source I have to go off of

I really want to find this. Half because its a wild goose chase, half musical curiosity. Read the whole article. Its not long at all and extremely interesting.

For the time being, a quote from the artist:

"This Mister Softy side-project was born just after the Paulstretch / Bieber craze. Seeing how incredible the algorithm was I decided to make something with it. I collected various samples (a full track I did a while back, snippets of unfinished stuff, comedy radio broadcasts, bass guitar recordings I made last year with a borrowed instrument - I don't even play bass but who cares?), "paulstretched" them, fired pro-tools and made a huge montage with the stuff. I then recorded the output on tape using a worn, shitty ghetto blaster with damaged heads. Finally, I mixed the digital and tape versions together (to get rid of the digital purity while maintaining a sense of clarity). The end result is a series of ominous yet relaxing soundscapes lasting over 35 minutes."

fucking hell, now im going to submit that stupid ass civics project in late, because its due tomorrow.

Okay, well I'ma just upload it now cause my exam revision can take a 5 minute break.

Notice that the name █▄ ██ ▄█ █▄ ██ ▄█ actually symbolizes

part 1/part 2/part 3/part 4/part 5, each consisting of 2 of those funny block things.

Aaaaaannndd.... here ya go.

It was just released as one 38 minute track.

Im only 9:30 in but it kinda sounds like the same two or three sounds being replayed over and over again
