95mm or 115mm for my 101 waist ski?

Hey guys, just got my 2014 Jmos in and they have a waist of 101mm. I've been eyeing the Pivot 14/FKS as a binding and couldn't help but notice they skipped from 95mm to 115mm for their brake size. Ive kinda skimmed around looking at suggestions and it seems like the 95mm are gonna be a better fit. You guys agree with that? Should any shop I take them to agree and would they tweak them out for me the extra 6 or 7mm?

Im sure this exact thread has been made sometime in the past but I'm too lazy to search.

don't bet your life on my answer but i'd def say the 95. i don't know the limits of bending your brakes out but my brakes are bent out like 10mm each side i think (what are old p12 brakes' width, like in the 70s?? and the skis in question are a 95 waist or so).

they aren't perfect by any stretch of the imagination but i'd opine that it is preferable to brakes that are hanging off by 7 or 8 mm on each side

My friend baught 90mm brakes on fks and they fit 98mm skis fine...so I'm guessing the 95mm should fit 101mm skis

Take a grain of rice. Break it in half. The length of each half is how far each brake arm will need to bend to fit a 95mm brake on a 101mm ski.

In other words, not a lot. You could do it by hand, heck the spring on the binding will probably be almost strong enough to push the brake down anyway.

you should be fine with the 95mm. i have rossi fks 140 which comes in 90mm and it fits with no bend on my 98mm skis

Sorry to threadjack, but is there a way to bend FKS brakes to go down waist sizes? I have the 115 brakes, and I am going to switch them to park skis for next season, which will be 92mm wide. Is there a way to make them smaller/get new brakes, same bindings?

definetly, same way you you bend to make them wider, but smaller if that makes sense.
