There hasn't been a thread on this in a while and lately I've really been questioning whether 9/11 was an act of terror or really was planned as a part of some enormous scheme. What are everyone's thoughts? Try to keep hating at a minimum.

Our government can barely do anything right. Universal Healthcare? Too complicated. Coordinating relief efforts after a natural disaster? Way too much effort. Keeping our national highways in good shape? Way too complicated. Coordinating a huge scale conspiracy with tons of loose ends? Easy.

^ well yeah I completely understand what you mean it seems our government is way too unorganized to pull off something like 9/11 but I could see an inside job definitely being a plausible explanation.
 
Its so obvious from all the evidence that the government did 9/11 so that americans would become more patriotic and flag companies could make more revenue off of American's newfound patriotism.

oh man oh man, how the media and Micheal Moore brainwashed most of you. The government did not plan 9/11 nor was it an inside job. Some terrorist who have been planning for years took the time and effort to make a flawless plan. Not to hard to understand. I'm from the city and live close now and I still think about it that day, thousands of fellow new yorkers being murdered, JUTICE IS NEEDED. support our troops.

well i would say clinton has more blame on his hands then Bush, he (bush) was just barely in office when the attacks took place. hardly enough time for the attacks to be planned and executed...

the plan was formulated under a Clinton presidency..

But trying to pin this on the actions of one man is assanine...

just out of curiosity have you ever seen the 9/11 mini series on, (i think it was CBS). i know it doesnt get everything right, but i thought it did a pretty good job of telling the events prior to 9/11 in a very objective light..

its absolutely horrifying how many clues were missed.

haha one more quick thing, im also pretty sure that Bill sued CBS to have the show blocked off the air because it painted him in an unfavorable manner in some of the positions he was forced to deal with.
 
I'd just say that there are some questions I'd like have answered that the 9/11 commission somehow omitted. Its been this administrations policy to cover their ass as much as possible, and they seem very reluctant and secretive about disclosing information or investigating what happened that day.
 
probably because they made a lot of mistakes. or knew about it and didn't take the threat seriously. but thinking it was an inside job is ludicrous.
 
It's brash to say "America had it coming".

So I'll try "We shoudln't be surprised" .

But we were which speaks volumes about both our exploitive foriegn policy and our absolute lack of humanitarian morals and beliefs.

3,000 Americans is indeed a tragedy and a loss. But so is the loss of any life. Is an American life worth more than a muslim's? Not in my books.

9/11 was just a splinter- nothing decisive. It only exacerbated the problem for the extremists who thought this would alert the western world to the infringements posed by our foriegn policy on middle-eastern sovereignty. In a sense it did, some of us are more aware, but still more are even stupider. Two invasions and countless embargos later, it really didnt do a hell of a lot for their soverignty either.

The truth is there really were no victors from 9/11. The compounded idiocy on both sides ensured that no one in fact learned anything from this and that mankind's biggest colelctive problem at this point in time is pride, fist throwing, and lack of enlightened communication and transparency.
 
Once again, hindsight is 20/20. Imagine what would happen if some president took action against the information given to him. Oh ya, that happened after 9/11 and Bush decided it wasn't worth the risk to ignore it anymore. Was the information correct? Probably no. Was it worth the risk? Definitely not. But anyone will say "Oh ya we definitely should have gone in there and killed some A-rabs" before we actually did it.
 
After discussing mental illnesses in class lately, I've concluded that the majority of "9/11 truth" supporters suffer from paranoid schizophrenia. Seriously.

 
I love how some of you fall back on the idea that our government is too incompetent to assist in any way a few religious nutjobs in flying an airplane into a building.

How many people do you really think would have to be involved? Just schedule some war game excercises so defenses are confused, let someone who wants to know find out what day it is scheduled, and then launder some money into the middle east through Pakistani intelligence for hotels and plane tickets. Did you forget that the Bush family has intimate ties with the Bin Laden family? Did you forget that most politicians are merely pawns for big business and banking interests who are generally pretty fucking good at getting shit done when theres a financial incentive involved? How fucking hard do you think that would be to pull off if you had a small group of people wanting to get it done?
 
I dont think it was an inside job..but something isnt right with what happened at the pentagon..what happened to the "plane"? I dont buy it.

ok me and my lunch table haha(were sophmores) got into a huge argument about this. ok this is MY OPINION and i feel nobody will ever know the exact facts about this.

I think that the government higher arcs new about this and did nothing to stop it or prevent it. by higher arcs not president bush but more along the lines of Cheney, Rumsfield and Rove. not bush because if he is asked about it he would honestly say he didnt know and that would be the truth.

 
shit it got cut off... but anyway also i think it is very wierd how the pentagon attack didnt fit the profile of a plane strick but more like a missle. notice the lack of wing marks and everything else. but this could go on forever.

EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH LOOSE CHANGE even if u think you will never beilive shit its just a cool thing to think about(especially when blazzed out of you mind hahaha)
 
This whole subject is extremely close to home for myself, but I'll try to be as objective as possible.

Sure there were probably plenty of things that could have been put into effect in order to prevent the 9/11 attacks, I'm not saying that they were un-preventable. BUT to say that the American government planned and executed the mass murder of thousands of its citizens is absolutely ridiculous. Why would they want to? It would have had to been panned mostly under the Clinton Administration, seeing as Bush was barely in office. Why would a president plan something so the man behind him could come forth as the "oh fearless leader" that Bush did? Of course homeland security could gave been stepped up earlier, and the FAA could have been more strict on policies earlier, but I think any thought that the US government was part of it, is ridiculous.

Also, if you ask me, all of those who stand at Ground Zero and chant how it was an "inside job", and how "the US had it coming" should all be lined up and shot. I don't care what your stance is on the events, but to stand where thousands DIED and yell that they had it coming, and trying to undo any comfort that had been brought to the families and relatives mourning makes you a douchebag who should burn in perdition.
 
No intelligent person can take Loose Change seriously. Total bullshit. There is nothing suspicious about what happened at the Pentagon - security camera footage shows a plane, hundreds of people saw a plane, a number of telephone poles were taken out (I'd like to see a missile do that), and a plane does not leave a cartoon-like airplane cutout when it strikes a concrete building. Those kids who made Loose Change are fucking idiots...it's pretty obvious if you've ever seen them interviewed.

As far as the "being blazed out of your mind" thing, I think that explains a lot about these conspiracy theories - a lot of recent research shows a strong link between THC and the development of paranoid schizophrenia, which I seriously believe many of these conspiracy theorists suffer from.

can you explain why no parts of the plane were found? yeah...thats sketchy.

There are more photos than you can imagine with plane debris: chunks, engines, gears, seats, bodies, you name it, in the pentagon crash. Have fun looking at your truther websites that are oh so selective. God damn
 
No, but I can explain why you think that: because a bunch of morons in their mid-twenties made up a bunch of bullshit, put it in a poorly-made movie, and posted it on the internet.

i agree completely with your statement.

This countries core values have been deteriorated to the point where we (as Americans) don't really stand for anything. it kills me to say that it has come to a sad point in history when we cannot believe in our country anymore. we had thousands of fellow countrymen and women killed in one day by an enemy that truly hates us (whether you believe that or not). to think that it was an inside job sickens me and i pray that GOD may have mercy on their soles.

I believe that the media should replay some of the footage from 9/11 on TV everyday (during this war) to remind everybody just what this country went through and how we came together as a nation.

 
you know what i just realized??? the majority of people on this site were like 9 or 10 yrs old when that happened. man that makes me feel old. that might explain some of this bullshit I hear.
 
Soo.. your saying that because no pieces of the plane were found it didnt happen. A plane flew with substantial speed into a fucking building, what kind of substantial pieces do you expect to find?

that's called scare tactics and it's why the patriot act was passed and barely anybody did anything to protest it.
