800$ Fall

yesterday i was skiing at a local ski hill with great conditions, no ice freshly groomed and no poeple. i was skiing my brand new 2006 völkl p60's and this was my second time this year skiing with them. so i went down a black to get wamred up and there were ski races going on that day and they never slipped the fucking course and if they did they did a half ass job.

so i was going down fine and i started to pull up on my toes to my skis back under me and for some supid reason i leaned back and there was a pretty large bump comming up in the hill and on top of it there were ice chunks and a bunch of snow pilled up from the racers. i didnt see it so i was still leaning back and went off the hill, got air born and fell on my back. i was spinning and doing all the normal garage sales shit until i stop and noticed a piece of my binding was way up where i fell along with my skis. so i went up there and one of my skis snapped right behind the binding and and was only being held on by the metal edge, and and the other ski had no back binding, it completely tore off.

so now i have my brand new fucking skis gone to shit and i brought them back to the place i bought them from and there like '' well...i dont know if we can replace thatt.....ya know?......i guess we can send em back to völkl for you...but i dont know...'' i was like wtf send em back now. so they are 'suppose' to send em back and get me new one but ill be lucky if i get them before the end of the season. lazy bastards

if guns kill people the spoons make rosey o'donell fat

yeah man that sucks a lot u shud def send them back, u wont get them for a while but maybs they'll hook u up with the 07's

I broke a PE right behind the binding too, but I was doing a cork 5 and landed on top of it:( then I had to get the new ones but I didnt like that grafic, bastards.

at least you didnt fall and break yourself and end up paying tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses (thank god for insurance)

yeah i hopes. they had to take my boots to refit the skis when they come in so i have nothing to ski on now

Actually the binding coming off is the shop problem....they schould give you new skis for that shit....maybe they installed them dry( no glue). The snapping is Volkl problem.....but your gonna be waiting for a while for your skis, like a year.....two years.

All skis will snap ata certain point. The earlier post may be on to something - the shop could have messed up by drilling too far in and weakening the skis.

I've heard a lot about Volkls snapping since K2 bought them.

But again, all skis will break given enough stress.

Go back and complain politely but firmly - any good shop should but you on something else while Volkl/K2 figures out the warranty.

yeah man, when I broke my scratch's the shop let me demo any ski I wanted while I waited for the skis to return from warranty.

alright, as a follow up...

so i got a call from the place that i bought the skis from and returned them broken and they called völkl up and told them what happened and they said that i cant get them replaced even though i got them in dec of '05. they said they cant because it was human error and i was like BULLSHIT, becuase i took a weak fall and they brook, it wasnt even anything big. so they place where i bought the skis said i could get the next moddel up from the p60's which are the 'race tigers' but i have to pay a 325$ fee. there usually like 900$-1200$. so thats ok but im still pissed off

the store wont replace them but vokl will. it will just probably take a while I hope you came out of the spill with not many bruises

Thats pretty sweet how there actualy helping you out. I've heard good things about those skis your getting, but those are like $500 for an ok price, not $800

your shops full of shit. hoinestly. They didnt talk to the rep, alot of gay shops "say they talk to the rep" but really fucking bullshit around then lte you pay cheaper cause there still making money.

whats easier to say i fell and my skis poles went everywhere n every which direction or i had a garage sale?

they should definitely replace those, free of charge. i work in a shop, and we have warrantied countless skis for the same problem. i don't think your shop is giving you the run around so much as the volkl warranty dept. the shop selling you skis for 325 means that volkl is selling the skis, not the shop. there's usually a 50% mark up on skis. since the new skis are costing you 325, that means you are getting them for a pro price from volkl, not your shop. basically what this boils down to is you getting fucked hard by someone.

they would just give me another pair of the p60's that i had but there all sold out. i have a race thurs and im stopping at the shop before so hopefully i can get them then. everytime i walk in the store i feel like i have a banner on saying 'rape me!'
