80 rapes at Missoula??

its really unfortunate that this has happened.

Missoula is one of my favorite cities and the University is an incredible institution.

I hope that the actions of the poor folks that allegedly committed those crimes will not deface the University of Montana or the city of Missoula as a whole.

 
Probably about 20% of those are probably legit accounts and the other 80% are just made up by some dumb drunk sluts that got too shit canned one night.
 
and yes...they had a series of skits that they showed to all of the freshman when we first arrived and it was about how if you go out and drink you are most likely going to get fucked

The whole thing at UM is a mess right now. It seems as though women are starting to use a rape accusation to justify their idiocy of getting drunk and sleeping with a guy nowadays. I hope the federal probe will expose a lot of the "accusations" as fraud and humiliate those bitches while they are at it.

It definitely has given MSU students plenty to make fun of the UM crowd though.

I go to school at the U in missoula and while we have had a problem recently with sexual assaults I don't think it is much different than what happens at any college in America. The root cause of the assaults is almost always alcohol related and while there have defiantly been some legit cases reported many of the cases are no where near as bad as they are made out to be.

The assaults have garnered so much attention because numerous players on our football and basketball teams have committed the crimes. It got so out of hand that both our head coach and athletic director were fired midway thru their contracts. Hopefully the issue resolves itself because missoula is a great place to live and go to school and I would hate to see our reputation ruined because of something like this.

There are some situations where girls use the term rape far too freely in order to not look slutty or trashy, or in situations where they just regret what they did and don't want to be accountable. I completely agree that sometimes its completely legit, and those cases should be pursued heavily, but girls need to realize that as serious as rape is for them, being wrongly accused of it as a guy can be far worse in the long run
 
The article framed it on a failure of local authorities to properly investigate the crimes, that appears to be at issue here.

Right now I am sitting in class (at the UofM) in missoula and this is showing up everywhere! This is out of control. It is good that there is so much publicity behind it though, maybe something will finally change.
 
I don't anybody else coming to Montana anyways... but holy shit that is terrible. Probably just a bunch of lying bitches though. And what the fuck is up with O'day and Phlugrad(?) getting fired?
 
You should definitely read into this more before you make a comment like that. This isn't "lying bitches," it's a serious problem with local law enforcement and policies.

Yeah things are not going to swell here. Plus we had an aids break-out last month to top things off. The outside school community is play just as big if not bigger part in all of the rapes. It's not too good right meow.
 
Yes, in some cases women use the term rape to wrongfully accuse someone of something that they may have consented to or not done at all. However, the fact that many of you are saying that these "bitches" and "sluts" probably deserved it is disgusting, misogynistic, and brings you down to their level... very very low. Show some respect, because if this is in fact 100% true... or even 75% true for that matter, females were hurt and possibly traumatized and you should all feel like absolute shit.
 
Have you been here? Missoula is a great place to live. Things got really blown up with all the football players and that stuff, and Im not saying any of it is a joke or a good thing, but honestly you cant say the same things dont happen to the same or even greater extent in any college town. Missoula is a great place to live and go to school.
 
yup dads friend was telling me about it, big issues with football team too coach got fired. missoula turned to shit this year
 
I grew up in MT, and i now live in bozeman. i have had friends who have been raped, and a friend who was falsely accused of raping his ex girlfriend. having seen both sides of it, the actual rape victims deserve way more compassion. that is something that will haunt them for the rest of their lives, and many never fully recover mentally.

As far the accusation goes, it was fucked up, she got proven wrong, and my buddy decided to move away to avoid humiliation, but he is fine now. he knows that some dumb slut fucked him over, but he also knows that it was just a shitty bump in the road of his life. the memory will not disturb him forever, or fuck up his relationships with other women for the rest of his life. all these comments calling girls lying sluts are making you look like ignorant fucks. rape is fucked, and isn't funny at all, especially when its happening in your town, on your block, and outside your house.

Missoula has a much larger problem going on, and i dont know much about it. but Bozeman has also had a spike in rape/sexual assault, in the past few months an unidentified man has raped two girls on campus and is still at large. they have sketches of him up all over. before that, a man raped a girl and then fled out of town on a police chase, and shot himself in the head.

all in all, fuck rapists. it's just fucked up when you have to worry about your female friends going out to bars, goin home by themselves, and even walking home from class at night.
 
I never really understood why someone becomes a rapist. Is it due to the fact they all got brush off by girls in highschool and they have held a grudge ever since?
