8 year old suspended for wearing black face

That dude did nothing but good for black people..anyways, yes i understand that i couldnt go into some ghetto neighborhood in LA and start calling people "niggas" yes i live in a very white town where just like in this video, white people seem to get more offended about anything race related.. i hate to call it being sheltered, i feel like inner city kids are more sheltered from the rest of the world more than anything, where you have to man up a little and not let a fucking word ruin your day. not aiming this towards you, more just the inner city mentality in general that if you're black, everyone owes you, everythings a race issue, bullshit. i worked in NY for 4 months where i had to deal with co workers like this all the time, its like a society where that mentality is the norm.

anyways, i have no respect for that extremely weak minded, gets offended easily, im above you, you owe me, mooch off the man, piece of shit mentality. its not just an issue with blacks, you see it with every race. so if me saying "whassup nigga" to my friend, just fucking around, offends someone, they can blow me. i have black friends, mexican friends, gay friends etc.. we dont hold back with making fun of each others stereotypes and racial slurs, because i wouldnt be friends with them in the first place if they werent above that weak minded childish mentality.

gets me every time.

im a skinny, white, fitting clothes wearing, opposite of gangster, person. im as white as it gets. im not saying it to be cool, or because i think im a G. its not like thats my usual greeting, but occasionally ill refer to a friend as a nigga because its a fucking word and i really dont feel like i have to consider the politically correct wordage when im just fucking around with my friends, its just one of many completely non serious remarks i may happen to make. not sure where theres a connection between that and education.

thanks for an actual response. anyway, i dont run around calling people nigga. im just saying that occasionally when im being completely non serious, just fucking around with my friends, ill jokingly include nigga in a sentence, because who the fuck cares? if you want an estimate, id say it comes out a couple times a month. am i an uneducated racist now?

Sometimes when I'm just joking around, I call my dad "faggot" when I talk to him on the phone. I call my friends "kike" and "spic" too, but you know, we're just fucking around, man.

nononono lol, he Lemeux photo made a really funny joke.

You: I'm not the skinny ass white kid running around calling people "nigga."

JLemauxphoto: "I don't think this is the right website for you."

Meaning that If you aren't a skinny ass white kid running around calling people nigga, you dont belong here and your opinions and posts are not appreciated by dumb fucks like the OP. Which is funny, because it's true.

More reasons why I feel like I should quit NS.

I think ar6 just takes things way to literally, and/or gets offended very easily. probably like whoever it was in the OP video that was offended by the kid painting his face. saying the N word doesnt automatically mean you are a racist cross burning redneck. some people just seem to have an inability to look at things from multiple sides.

Not sure about this guy but I know some people like Jim Crow, acted as blacks and used the 'black face' to inspire racism.

I am convinced you tried to use something you learned in 8th grade during MLK Day in order to appear smart, but just completely fucked up all the facts because of your poor comprehension abilities

true but he was a figure during white demonstrations directly creating the roots of racism. This was called a minstrel show and a white man would dress up like a black man and purposely act silly and racist to perform a mockery of the black race. This man was called a "Jim Crow" because that was a stereotypical black name (similar to john smith for whites). The real issue stems from the teachers understanding the history and the origin of racism. I have no problem with the kid trying to emulate MLK but he should have washed his face solely based on the however remote suggestion of him as a "Jim Crow"

fuck no he shouldnt have washed his face, did this kid in anyway paint his face to represent a cartoon/term associated with racism in the 1800's/early 1900's? hell no. its so insanely loosely tied to any hint of racism its fucking ridiculous you could find any way to get offended by it.

anyways. the whole Jim Crow thing i believe started with a racist song called Jim Crow, and from there became a term used to describe the laws, customs and overall racist society back then. and im not sure what you mean when you say "directly creating the roots of racism" it didnt create racism, it was a term that came along well after anti-black racism was well established, and became one term to describe it in the 1800's. yes white people would dress like blacks and perform, making fun of black stereotypes. sure its racist, but it was entertainment, there is still all kinds of racism towards all races in modern entertainment also. its not a bad thing, you cant expect entertainment to deny the fact that racism exists.

And what about the Blackface era? that was largely a pretty positive, pro black era in entertainment. why not associate this kid with someone like Al Jolson whom i mentioned earlier? sure fits a lot better with martin L king, as they were both important and positive figures in black history, but no being America we have to find a way to make it offensive so we can bitch about it and feel like we are helping a poor discriminated race in need so we can feel above everyone else.

I know but the person I quoted said that some people like jim crow dressed up and made fun of black people, when actually, "jim crow" was not a historical person, but the character they portrayed when they did this.

Incorrect:

Some people, like Jim Crow, dressed up as black people to make fun of them

Correct:

Some people dressed up as "Jim Crow" to make fun of black people.

I agree that this situation never should have come about because there is no way thats offensive. Its just his damn parents trying to get attention. There gonna pull his second grader out of his elementry school when they just want to be on tv. If they were acting in the best intrest of their kid they just would have washed his face, not called the fucking tv station.

isn't that the opposite of racism? a white kid really respects black american culture and decides to portray himself as an instrumental figure of the black community in a time of intolerance and racial segregation and raise awareness to his fellow 2nd grade students.. and he get das boot?

(scratches head)

When we were about that age in cub scouts or boy scouts or whatever we did space jam theme in a parade for the 4th. My buddy got blacked out to be MJ. Nobody seemed to have a problem with it.

I feel like people in America today are so pc that if it even smells remotely offensive to some group, the media makes a big deal about it. The idea that we broadcast every possible racially charged topic before the context is clarified sensationalizes the underlying issue (racism) which makes it appear more prevalent than it actually is. There is a major difference between people making borish or stupid mistakes and being racist. If i were black i think i would be more upset about the black man who is asking for governmental assistance because he has 30 kids and makes minimum wage and cant afford to survive for reinforcing a negative stereotype, than some white kid taking pride in a MLK project and showing obvious enthusiasm for the topic. Gotta love America!!

exactly! people get so fucking critical and PC about this type of shit it really just starts to have a negative effect. we all just want equality (supposedly) but we try so damn hard to make minorities feel good and feel special, and feel like a part of white culture, give them breaks and more opportunities etc. just because they happen to have a different skin color. its the absolute opposite of equality. yet when REAL non racists dont cut them slack because of their race, and treat them just as harsh and judge them just as easily as any white guy, we get labeled racist. its so fucking backwards.

and whats worse is that our special treatment of minorities, makes it so damn easy for them to mooch off the system and half ass everything, it just makes the whole situation worse and worse.

We are trying to fire a black girl working for us, because she literally is a horrible employee, one of the worst persons ive had to deal with. yet its a huge risk to fire her because she could so easily call my boss racist, and fuck us over. so we would have to give her unemployment, and even then its a risk. and she knows it, so she gets worse and worse. this girl would be fired 6 months ago if she were white, but somehow its racist to treat her like a white person. cool huh?
