7Springs changes - 05/06

Does anyone with inside info know if there were any changes as Springs for the upcoming season? New rails or equipment? Did they hire anyone that knows how to build jumps? Whoever they have now is the worse...Blue Knob has better hits...I wish they would make a good jump that is big enough to keep the people that suck from riding over it and ruining it...maybe a gap or something?

When is the new side of the mountain going to be open? They have sold the property for the new condo's over there...are they going to put in an express lift on North Face?

Lastly, whoever runs the cult can I get an invite please?

I wish I knew...supposedly a hefty amount of park changes (thank the fucking lord) and thats really as far as i know (with the exeption of the construction of a bunch of new condos)

but it is snowing there right now :-D

and i sent you an invite.
 
I don't have insider knowledge, but people are saying that they've aquired a super-pipe cutter (i know theres a tech name for this but i forget), then the big park as well as santas beard are going to expand a little (more than one shitty, dangerous jump or rail). I'm not sure if they cleared the woods and stuff on either side but they said "expanded". Apparently there is also a new park crew and an actual park director. Some of last years rails are going to be reused but there will be new ones. Someone also mentionioned a big box like 18+ feet.

^now this is all third hand info i've picked up from a collection of different people... so i'll some isn't completely true. But I guess what it's like this year will also depend on snow. And with the looks of it... it's going to be an awesome season.
 
a couple years back 7springs actually had good shit....they even had gap jumps..but sadly the guy that knew what he was doing took a job out west....that would be amazing if they actually had a good park...I wonder if these improvements have anything to do with them applying for the slots license...which I hope to God they do not get...it would be so crowded....I would be happy with like 4 quality hits, 4 good rails, and a half pipe....I wish they would put a wall ride at the end of the half pipe....now that would rock...I hope these changes do happen....I wonder what they told the people who bought the new condos about the expansion on that other face (western I think)...if they can get that expansion done and put a high speed quad on north face it would be banging....they have snow now....I hope they get slammed and they open up thanksgiving weekend....I would cream my pants

They said they're gonna add a new park on giant steps. They never said they were gonna get rid of the big park on the northface. So hopefully they will keep the hession and the bigpark and have three parks year. And they're getting a new pipe cutter and C-rail.
 
Springs has so much pontential. If they really wanted they could be the best Mid-Atlantic mountain. And with how popular park riding is now (skiing and boarding), they better start stepping it up soon. They obviously can't match stuff up north like Killi, but lets see some drive here guys.
 
I'd actually like to see the big park move off of northface. Like especially at night it gets so wind-swept and icey. I won't even hit the bigger stuff when i know i'll be landing on a something only slightly softer than concrete. But them again i'm a huge pussy now after the broken leg and concussion. I freakin suck balls now too, haven't thrown anything over a 3 since.
 
Giant steps doesn't have lights anyways so it would have to be a day-only park unless they added lights. It will prob. be long and have hit after hit instead of having a tow. I just hope they keep the old big park as well.
 
hey im lookin for people to ski with this year at springs. i havent really met to many people of tehr than the ones that i go with. want to learn some new stuff in the park and party hard at night. hope to see everyone over winter break. let me know when people are ganna hit the slopes. later
 
check out the new trail map on there site they show the new park half way down giant steps under the triple, and their "new slope" just looks like they cleared some trees out of turleneck glades.
 
ive skied giant steps at night. i got so fucking lost and had to hike over to the lift at the bottom. it was fun though
