7d Outdated?

Im in the market for a new DSLR pretty soon and I was thinking about the 7d. I would be doing about 50/50 photo and video so I think its the perfect match but its been out for a while and I am beginning to wonder if its outdated with the whole new 7d mark ii rumors. Can somebody give me some insight as to what I should do? Thanks and +K for help

but yes it is outdated tech and yes you are better off waiting for the 7d2

Maybe to you, but to others it would be far more than enough, and I'd love to have one, would last me a good couple of years at least.

Agreed. There are def amazing cameras out there this day and age, some cheaper some more expensive but I love shooting with my 7D. Very durable and works amazing for what I do, also got an amazing deal. By the time I upgrade, the current cameras prices will drop and the newest technology will be even more insane. I was waiting for the 6D but needed a camera asap so with the money saved I acquired some sick lenses, so I'm quite pleased.

I just don't want to compromise on the quality but I think the 7d still has great quality. I'm gonna wait for the price to drop a little bit so I can save up some more money than ill buy it

If you can afford it, go full frame. 7D is nice but IMO not the best at noise performance, so anything low light in video you're gonna have a hard time without some fast primes. Still a nice camera, a lot of people love it, I don't know how much you're willing to drop on a camera, but yeah like 5D mkii is pretty legit. FF is just a lot better to work with if you can

No, it's not outdated at all. Yes, there are newer technologies, but that isn't to say that the 7D can't do 95% of what those camera's do.

Everyone knows you can't get decent photo/video without the most expensive and cutting edge gear.

Might as well just wait until Canon stops developing new technology, otherwise your stuff is just going to get outdated again.

this. 7d is fun. im sure the mark ii is going to be even more fun though, but how much is that worth to you?
