720 fail

Ok so me and my friend were at our local hill (COP) so i could learn to 540. I did it on my scond try on this 5 foot jump. So feeling pretty confident and making a bet with my friend, I decided it would be cool to 720 mute grab a 10 foot jump. So i tried to 720 it first and landed on the knuckle of the jump, so next run started a bit higher and didnt speed check and span a bit harder. I ended up over shooting the jump and span 810, and kneed my self in the face. Injuries are 2 loose teeth that will need root canals, bruised and cut gums, bruised my left leg pretty bad and got a concussion. But I still finished my line. So i am wondering if anyone ever kneed them selves in the face? Because my dentist said it happens pretty often.

No i dont use snowblades, i used my 173 libtech jib nas. The reason i didnt clear it the first time was i didnt get enough speed because i got cut off when i was droping in and my friend said i popped to early.

I pop and rotate before i hit the lip of the jump, and spin kinda like a cork but once i am in the air i pull my legs to my chest and grab my toe piece with my right hand. Then i just hold this position till i do the full rotation, while looking for my landing.

that sucks. hope you get back out there soon.also, just out of curiosity, did you happen to mean that the jump was 10ft high or that the gap was 10ft?i think that there might be a little disconnect that's causing people to be confused.

i landed on my tramp on the tops of my sholders with my legs straight above me and when I hit the tramp my knee came right to my eye. I had a black eye for a week.

why would you try and 7 a 10 foot jump? that just sounds stupid, do it on something bigger. and yes i've kneed myself in the face. took a cliff too deep and tried to stomp, gave myself a black eye.

Sorry about the "span" thing i will say spun now, its just force of habit. And it was kinda a kicker but it didnt have a lip any more because 10 year olds were riding over it and smoothed it out, and its 10 feet length wise. Ask anyone that lives in calgary if its duable. But spinning 720 on small jumps isnt to hard. Next time you go skiing find a small jump and spin as hard as you can but stand as straight as you can and lock your body, i have a friend who does this in between trees where their is a sligt lip and he can spin 540 easilly. When i get better i will try it again and film.

Dude, At COP what jump line are you hitting? Cause the jumps in the beginner park are like 10ft. If your hitting the bigs there like 30-35 feet.

i did a rodeo and i landed and i somehow kneed myself in the face and my gopro came of and i have it all on film

i kneed myself in the face at COP when the wind picked up hitting the first big, hit the knuckle at 540 bit my toungue and that bled for a few hours

man we got a nice 40" at our local hill.

had 540s on it, then tryed a 7, landed it first time and the rest of the day no problem.

next time try goin a bit bigger haha

Yeah dude i don't know how much of this is true. I go C.O.P almost everyday and if your talking about the kiddy killer on the left side of the pipe there is absolutely no way in hell you would be getting around "cork 7" mutes. That jump is maybe 6 or 7 feet to the knuckle, and it could be like 10 feet if you took it deep. That sucks about kneeing yourself, but next time if you want to try something new, try it off third medium or second bi, it will work alot better for you

I didnt cork i 720 mute, i can only cork 5 and thats to sketchy for me to try again this year. And its more than do able the only reason i tried was because my friend 720 a 3 foot jump in the progression park, which i 540 this week. But they changed COPs terrain park and they made the jumps a bit bigger so i will work on 720s latter while my friend works on 900s. This time i will film though.

This is a fail. You can 5 and cork 5 but not 7? Instead of learning a 7 first you do a cork 7 mute? haha on a 10 ft gap? Im soooo confused with this. Ill admit if it is a lippy jump its easy to cork your spin and you can get enough air to 7 easily but I dont know these jumps.

For instance, I learned corked 7s on 2 in park lane and that gap is not very big but the jump is so lippy you easily get the rotation. So maybe.

But you sound like a prodigy if you go from 5 to cork 7 mute hahahaha.
