we've been primarily working on fabricating some new stuff at the metal shop, as well as finishing a wallride that isn't as prominent in the photos, painting and "bricking" some more plywood, and preparing for the upcoming winter. everyone on the staff has been absolutely crushing it on this gargantuan build, so make sure you give all the dudes responsible a high five out on the hill this season. it's been a ridiculous amount of work to have even gotten this far. and we're still building.
ran into special j today, and he said he's checking it out this afternoon... dude will probably post some updated photos.

i don't think the gravity of how amazing this park is will be apparent until the first riders drop in.

Solid codename, martis... and I got some pics, I may post em up later but overall, everything major has already been posted.

After walking around it in person, I am about 10x more sketched out about that closeout... right-foot-forward riders are gonna have to lip on. If there will be a lip before the light pole, you may have to swap when you pass the pole.... it's looks like less than 3 feet apart. No hate by any means. It's just gonna be super gnarly.

Ohhhhhh all you jiblets are going to be drooling over the opening day setup... It's going to be in the Beard, and it will be a Super Beard.

sweet mother of god! that is insane! im so jealous... this is what mountains should be pushing towards for their parks. at least orriginal stuff like this.

In the 7 springs opening prediction thread someone said its gonna be open fri-sun like regular time and like mon-thurs 9-9

This is what I got in the email they sent out

It's official - Seven Springs Mountain Resort will open Friday, December 16 for the 2011-2012 season!

Initial snowmaking began Wednesday, December, 7, with the resort’s Mountain Crew making snow on the Front Face of the mountain and the snow tubing park. After six intense days of snowmaking, the resort has an average snow base of 18-30 inches.

When the slopes open Friday, guests will be able to ski and snowboard on at least eight slopes and trails and the Santa’s Beard terrain park with at least eight features all serviced by two to three chairlifts and two surface lifts.

The slopes will be open during the following hours: 1-10 p.m., Fri., Dec. 16; 9 a.m.-10 p.m., Sat., Dec. 17; 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Sun., Dec. 18; and 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Mon., Dec. 19-Thurs., Dec. 22,

Ski and board tickets will be one price for all sessions - $37 per adult and $27 per child ages 6-11. These tickets will be valid all day and can be purchased in the Ski Ticket Office. Midweek season passholders are also welcome to ski this weekend.

That thing is absolutely insane, the closeout rail and the up gap down box look so dangerous especially with the light post in the middle of the whole thing. I can't believe a resort would build something like that. Its unfortunate to say but that thing looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Also this is like a huge evolution of the terrain park in my opinion. Very similar to that Nike 6.0 closeout and DFD they built last year at Northstar (?) But yea, this thing looks legit like a skatepark for skiers, I can't wait to see what parks look like 15 years from now.

Oh yea and I might have to make a trip to 7 springs this year

The worst part about the urban park opening in january is the fact that it just sits in front of us for a month before we can have at it.

I also hope that the park crew keeps the Super Beard "Super"
